For a while I had the goal of doing an Olympic triathlon by the time I hit 30. Uh, that didn't happen, LOL. Anyway, BIL is a serious runner, so I had a running partner to help me get back in the swing of working out. Also, when you have a small kid, going for a run is easier than going to the gym, so I got a lot of running in in the winter/early spring. So I changed my goal to doing one before I hit 35, which is this November. I'm going to sign up for the Black Diamond olympic triathlon on 9/14. YOLO!
Are there breaks in-between where you changed from the swimwear to the running/biking gear?
Yes but the clock is still ticking . Serious triathletes clip their shoes into their bike, wear speed laces that don't require tying, etc. I'm semi-serious, so I did a few tricks. My T1 (Swim->bike) wasn't very good, but my T2 (bike->run) was decent.
