I'm assuming he's out...but we don't have any contact with him. He's truly the black sheep of the family - and that says a lot since it's my Mom's side of the family & they are all completely dysfunctional (except my Mom). Last I heard he broke into my Grandparents house when they lived in Vegas and stole a bunch of crap.
I voted no, but my grandfather was institutionalized at a psychiatric facility that also housed mentally ill prisoners. This was in the 50s-60s, of course.
My white trash cousin was in prison about ten years ago, for statutory rape. He's now married to the girl who he got put into prison for getting pregnant and they have three kids together (not including the one she had while he was in prison, they put that baby up for adoption thank God). Blech.

My Uncle who has passed away was I'm Federal Prison for selling knock off purses and sunglasses. He was a big time king pin in I guess you would call it for MI. He would sell them to the people that sold them to the people that sold them or something crazy like that.
He is the only family member I've ever had that's been in jail or prison.
When he was arrested it was a big tv news story. He served 18 months. He was never the same again and died three weeks after my Mom. He was in poor health before prison.
He made poor choices that led to this and I do believe in holding people accountable. It was an EXGF who's husband found out they were having an affair and he turned him in. Then they opened a similar business down the road. I hope someday they get caught too.
I think H's aunt is right now. For parole violation, I think? Originally had to do with drug trafficking across state/international lines or something.
No, but I have a couple of cousins that attended schools that were court mandated or an alternative to a juvenile facility. If I learned that they were now in prison, I wouldn't be surprised. But according to facebook, neither are in prison.
I don't now but I did back when I was a kid. My cousin got sent to prison for selling drugs to some lady that got high then cut her kids heads off. She's out now though.
My 5 yo son told a lot of people that I went to prison.
We were driving across the state on our way to St. Louis for MIL's birthday party about 10 days ago. We passed the exit for Milan and I made a comment about the state prison there. Apparently, I make lots of comments about prisons because DH asked why I seem to know where all of them are. I explained that in my first job as a medical sales rep, my company had the contract with the state to sell supplies to all the prison medical facilities so I had to make sales calls to them. Conversation ended.
About an hour later, my son, who we didn't even realize had been listening instead of watching his movie, said "Mom, tell me again why you went to prison?"
DH and I looked at each other and I commented that "this is not going to go well for me..."
Sure enough, DS told more than a few people that weekend at MIL's senior citizen apartment that his mom had been to prison. I'm still waiting for the call from MIL when word starts to trickle back to her.
My BILs younger brother is in jail (what is his relation to me? Is he also my BIL?) also, my cousin is out now, but she spent several years in the clink.

I totally blocked it out, but I do.
My uncle (by marriage) was always that creepy guy. At 61 he arranged to meet a 16 year old across the country for a sexual tryst. He and my aunt are total tea partiers and were always loud about how illegal immigrants are committing a crime because the laws the law... But now we're supposed to be outraged that he was duped by a child.
No thank you.
Also my dad is actually my step dad. I only ever mention he's a step parent when I talk about his family. I don't know how he turned out so normal. Most of his siblings and or their children have been in jail or prison. It's entirely possible the FBI was surveiling my parents as they looked for his brother. Weird.

Not currently, but I believe my father has been in jail a couple times and I have a cousin who spent time in prison on drug related charges. He was using crystal at the time, but has completely turned his life around and I love spending time with him when I get the chance.

My cousin's ex, if that counts, though he wasn't her ex when he went to prison, and she still doesn't believe he did what they locked him up for (she divorced him for something else, officially anyway).
Also, my "niece's" bio mom, but we're not really related... That's just how she came to need a new mother figure.
My husband was accused of trying to run over a crossing guard when he was in high school. He spent his 18th birthday being transferred to county. My husband says he never aimed for the guy, the guard saw that he was trying to ditch school and jumped in front of his car to try and stop him from leaving the parking lot. Husband zoomed around him and took off.
