Dh used to feel them all the time. He said It was kind of painful. I just asked him now and he made a "I don't remember" crack (it's been less than a week, ahole), but he hasn't mentioned it in a long time. Maybe he got used to them? Idk.

How long have you had it? The strings can be a little stiff at first but they usually soften up as time goes by. You have to be careful with the length, sometimes shortening them can help but if it is too short they can "poke" the menfolk, lol. That and they can slip too far up the cervix and make retrieval difficult.
My H complained about it too, but eventually the strings softened and it was no problem. But I don't think it took 9-10 months, so may be worth getting them trimmed as PP said.
My H could feel the strings initially. I went in to get them trimmed, and my OB advised against trimming since she thought they were already pretty short. After a few weeks, they softened up, and H hasn't complained since. I love the lack of periods!

Definitely get the strings trimmed!
With doctor #1 who placed my Mirena after DD1, I got a whole song and dance about how if she trimmed the strings they could just poke him, etc. He just complained, so I eventually went back and she trimmed them. No more complaints.
With doctor #2, who placed my Paragard after DD2, she cut the strings initially (after checking with me first to make sure I didn't mind).
Neither doctor (different practices) ever told me to check my strings, so I never have.
