I am on a car book/biography binge. I just finished The art of racing in the rain. It's told from a Dog's perspective. Now I'm on to a biography about an F1 mechanic.
I typically read historical fiction though. Steven Saylor and Ken Follett are two of m favorites.
Slowly working my way through Under the Dome. If you have ever watched the show, the names are the same and that is about where the similarities end.
I never did see that show.
It is a good summer TV show, nothing super great or earth shattering, but it is good. Just not sure how they got the TV show from the book. I am really enjoying the book, just don't have a lot of time to read.
Add this to the list of reasons why I should probably invest in a ipad/tablet type thing. Sigh...........
My favorite authors are Jennifer Crusie, Kathy Reichs, and Jennifer Weiner. All different styles, but all enjoyable. I'd you've ever watched the TV show Bones, the main character had the same name and profession, but that's where the similarities end.
Jennifer Crusie writes smart, funny romance with a mystery in almost every story (Getting Rid of Bradley is especially satisfying). Kathy Reichs writes forensic anthropology and her book are very easy for me to get sucked into. Jennifer Weiner writes "Chick lit" and really does a beautiful job of worrying stories about different struggles women experience and their life paths and transformations.
I recently read A Civil Action which is a non-fiction account of polluted water causing cancer clusters. Sounds like it would be totally dry but it was a really good read.
I also recently read Reconstructing Amelia by Kimberly McCreight. It was heavy but good.
A good light read was Dumping Billy by Olivia Goldsmith.
Mary Roach. She does scientific non-fiction and she has a great writing style and wit, and her topics are really interesting. Stiff and Packing for Mars are my two favorites of hers. Margaret Atwood. Simply the best. About halfway through A Dance With Dragons. Trying to go sloooowly because who the hell knows how long it will be until he releases the next one.
Another really good read was The Power of Kindness - The Unexpected Benefits of Leading a Compassionate Life by Piero Ferruci. It was so good I've actually reread it once and will likely do so again.

DH and I like Under the Dome...I'll have to pick up the book!
I finished Revenge Wears Prada recently...not as good as the first, but a quick and entertaining read. I also read the first Divergent and need to borrow the second from my mother.
Lisa See's new book China Dolls which I am very disappointed in so far. I loved her other books. I agree with the above poster about Under the Dome. I have no idea where they are headed with the show vs. what happened in the book.
