Ugh. I have a JoePa apologist on my FB too. Yesterday he posted that he talked it over w/ his wife and they will no longer send their kids to Penn State. B/c he's angry w/ the Board of Trustees for throwing JoePa under the bus and taking down the statue. What an F'ing idiot.

I had a friend also post a picture of her with the JoePa statue. She's a normal non football fan even, which makes me think half of Penn St was brainwashed.
And another friend is going on about how this is too harsh and punishes the former, current and future players. Uhm, too bad! Don't worship at the ground of your football program to the detriment all else and shit like this wouldn't happen.
Speaking of work - my husband worked at a company that was more than 50% PSU alums. He left in April. I'm curious how this is all playing in that office today.
Strange place - it was a mix of Mennonites, PSU alums, Mormons and former military. They frowned upon swearing in the workplace (and my H came from a trading desk so he was in the habit of swearing at work) but yet I have a feeling this is all going to be water under the bridge.

People said the same thing when USC was cited for financial/ethics violations under Pete Carroll and Reggie Bush returned his Heisman and whatnot. Guess what? They survived. Matt Barkley is back as a senior. They're eligible for a national championship again this year. But I can guarantee that, at least for now, they're not doing the shit that got them into trouble in the first place.
And that was only for Reggie accepting things like a Hummer. No one was RAPED.
