We will have to buy two so looking for something $150 max if possible
We have the graco smart seat for mila. I love it but having the bases and just switching the seat is annoying for Scott when he drops them off before work.
I know it's old but we have been using the MyRide 65 consistently for 4 years. It got both kids RFing to about 38.5", he made it to 24.5 months and she made it to 27 months. We have no problem FFing it. We haven't bothered with getting the new buckles because we never had an issue with the buckles sticking or whatever they claimed.

For $150 my first idea was graco myride65. It's what Pey has. But it is huge, like front to back wise, sooo I'm not sure how troublesome that may be for you guys.
C25K...it works Seaside 5K...........40:45(2012) Turkey Trot..........41:30(2012)/37:08(2013)/37:40(2014) St Pat's 5K..........39:27(2013)/38:48(2014)/35:12(2015) Belair Town Run......38:09(2013)/36:27(2014) Back To Football 5K..37:36(2013)/43:44(2015) Balt Run Fest 5K.....34:59(2013)/41:50(2014)/35:54(2015)
The combo seat is FF, high back booster (belt positioning) and no back booster so basically the last seat they'll need.
A convertible RFaces so if you aren't RFing anymore then it would be a waste.
We have the safety 1st guide 65 for D too (which is her convertible) and I don't have any complaints, especially for the price. I think it's one of the smaller ones too.
Also the car seat place has a website where you can compare seats that isn't associated with their FB page it's at csftl.com
