So DS had his first fever today. He was feeling so crummy when he got him from daycare. I tried giving him infant Tylenol but he spit most of it out. I think he got enough to break the fever though.
But does the cherry stuff stain? It's all over the burp cloth and DH's shirt.
And I hate not knowing why he has a fever. Teething, ear infection, just because it was Friday? Ahh!!
My kid followed 2-3-4 today. It's been at least over 6 weeks since she did this. Fingers crossed she keeps this up.
Barnes and Noble's is open until 11 pm on Fridays. I went there to look for a baby cookbook and discovered they sell toys! $56 later... DD is going to love chewing her Winkel toy tomorrow. I bought 2 baby cookbooks both by British authors. The baby meals sound very interesting!
Congrats deej! When you do finally get to hold him, give him extra hugs!
What a terrible night. My tire pressure light came on earlier in the day, so we put air in the tire before going out to dinner. We come out of the restaurant and the tire is almost completely flat. It would certainly not be driveable to the tire shop in the morning. So we drove to my parents house nearby, and DH put on the donut tire while I hijacked my parent's bathtub for DS. Finished up at 9:30, poor DS didn't get to bed until 10.
We don't have the money for new tires y'all. Simply do.not.have.it. I don't know what we're going to do. Looks like a bit of our "emergencies only" 401(k) loan is going to be used on fucking tires. Goddamit.

H and I are home with my parents. My mom told me that my dad had something really important to tell me re: my grandpa (they owned a business together) but my dad acted like he didn't have a clue what I was taking about. This whole thing has been drama since day one and I hate how it's ripped my whole family apart. Boo.
OTOH, h and my dad brewed some delicious smelling beer!
With the rooster gone, I wonder if DS will sleep later. The chicken coop was right outside DS's window, but he's been exposed to the crowing his whole life. He usually wakes between 6:30-7, I hope I can get 7:30-8! That would be heaven.

DH was out with friends tonight, so I was being lonely on the phone with my mom right before DS' s bedtime because he had pooped and that's usually DH's evening job. So I said I needed to grow some ovaries and just go do it. Then I realized I AM growing some ovaries, being pregnant with a girl and all. Which cracked both my mom and me up. Even more so when I realized I had already grown balls with DS. We're both really tired today, so we laughed and laughed.
We are in nap time over here with the time difference, but DD is down and I hope she sleeps long because she caught a nasty cold. Any folksy, simple tips of helping a baby get through a cold? We are traveling and don't have our arsenal of stuff, most importantly the nose frida.
Let a hot shower steam up the bathroom and sit in there with her for a bit. You can also incline her sleeping surface if it's possible as that can help make it easier to breathe.
We did the steam shower and it helped a lot! No way to incline the travel mattress/crib, but hopefully she will be on the mend soon! Thanks!
We are in Florida visiting my parents (then going to disney which they don't know about). I'm anxious and have been treading all conversations and activities carefully so that my dad doesn't get in a jerky mood, which is when he start making rude and hurtful comments. This means letting DS do things I'm not quite thrilled about and I basically want to dip him in bleach at this point. I've been awake at least an hour because it's too hot to sleep. They keep their a/c at 79 degrees. There is a "too many cats" smell. DH is snoring because he is allergic to cats and they have many. DS is now in our bed because he woke up when a cat opened the door to the room he was sleeping in and he freaked. There are noisy frogs outside.
Eight and a half more hours here til we start the fun part of our vacation.
Eta: my mom just came in our room at 6 am to peek in. Guess I'm awake now. My back is all jacked up from the bed.
H BBQed some ribs for dinner tonight but ended up inhaling a bunch of smoke. He came inside and I could tell he was about to hurl so I sent him upstairs. He went to bed for the night. My parents helped clean up but I felt like a horrible host for having them do that. My own issue I know. There's no way I'd want to switch places with my H but I was a touch jealous that he got some uninterrupted sleep.
Thanks. Now I also get to spend this beautiful Saturday at the tire store instead of going to the Farmers Market like I planned. And DS didn't sleep in without the rooster, up at 6:30 like usual. Pity party, table for 1.
