My chest feels like its on fire. I've are tums & drank sparkling water. Normally sparkling water handles any heartburn for me. Not tonight!!!! It's been on fire since around 130p. Yikes!
My HB was really bad and felt like it would just last forever. My Dr. said I could (and should) take Zantac twice a day for prevention. He explained that heartburn can be like sunburn where you may be getting damage all day but not "feel" it until later and by that point it's too late to treat it. He said the zantac works like a sun block would.
I use to just take it when symptoms appeared and it seemed to do nothing. Now I take it 2x a day and haven't had an issue in weeks. If I do feel a little pain after a large meal or something, tums usually solves it then.
At any rate, I hope it calms down for you soon! Hours of HB lasting into the night/early morning is the worst!

My morning sickness seems to have subsided but heartburn has definitely set in. Tums sort of help but I am definitely going to try some of these suggestions! I swear pregnancy goes from one thing to another, I'm ready for first trimester to be over, but then I feel bad like I'm wishing it away.

That's been my saying since the start. Once one thing resolved, something else took it's place and so on and so on.
But I'll say this: I don't think anyone feels bad to wish the 1st tri away! It has got to be the worst! (Though I'm just starting my 3rd and I hear the end of that is pretty bad, too, but I would give anything to be able to skip a 1st tri if we ever do this again!)
