My miscarriage was technically our second cycle (we pulled the goalies half way through the month, the next month I didn't chart and then I conceived the next cycle when I tempted and used OPKs)
This pregnancy was technically cycle number 2 again. We had to wait a cycle after the d&c, the next cycle we didn't chart and then I conceived the next cycle when I tempted and used OPKs)
We have been very fortunate that as long as I am tempting and using OPKs, we haven't had an issue.
I'm not sure how to vote in this poll. With G, it took a little over a year to get pregnant. But that included 2 rounds of IVF. With B, we didn't use any birth control for a year then actively tried for another year. We had to do IVF again. I got pregnant with the fresh transfer, miscarried, and then got pregnant with B from a frozen transfer.
I think I have PTSD from TTC because reading this poll makes my stomach churn!!
I didn't have a period for 10 years, but only TTC towards the end of that. Technically we tried for a year, but had RE help for 6 months. I voted 6 for DS1 and 5 for DS2.

I still can't believe we got pregnant with number 2 without any surgeries or medication. I was absolutely dreading TTC #2. I don't think the memory of trouble TTC ever goes away!
Zero for K, 1 or 2 for this one - the first cycle we weren't exactly trying, because I was out of town while ovulating, but I was semi-hoping we would have supersperm that lived for weeks, so maybe that counts as TTC.
-1 with Lana. Got pregnant 1 month before we were goi to stop preventing. Just loosening the hatches on the BC was enough.
This was exactly how it went with us. We were planning to TTC in September, then we had a lot of fun in July, then we had Kai.
But thank goodness for that, because we weren't going to be living in the same state in September, and I was really stressing about how the hell that was going to work.

I lost count of the number of cycles, but it was a year and a half from when we started trying to BFP. Jack was an IVF baby. I've sort of mentally blocked out that time period, but it's coming back to me now that we're planning to try for #2 soon.
My mind is blown by how many of us got pregnant quickly. I wonder if the stats on how long the average person takes are old. I'm sure it's wildly different now than it was in the days before OPK's.

I would think the average gets skewed by the people who do have a hard time. Some of those could take years, but when you factor that into the average it makes it sound as if it's more common than not to get pregnant later than sooner. It probably helps others deal better too, hearing that. I don't know. Just a thought.
I also wonder if miscarriage occurrence/average gets skewed by people that have multiple miscarriages. At least that's what I like to wonder in my current first tri pregnant state. Don't get me wrong, I know it's common, but I wonder if and how much that average might be skewed. I also haven't really looked too much into it..

I agree. Also, with the miscarriage thing, we find out so early these days. Back in the day you wouldn't even know if you miscarried before you could reasonably expect your period. Now we know we're pregnant practically instantaneously, so we know about all those very early losses. I'm sure that skews the statistic too.

Another thing I've thought of and remember especially in my current state.
