I'm tired of paying $60 every 4 weeks for a brazillion. Can I afford it, technically yes. I have other goals though that the money would be better applied to. I've tried shaving, ever day and every other day, both end up hurting and with nasty red bumps despite creams that help. I gave it two weeks. I am now using an electric razor, but it's not a close shave, do I need a more expensive one? I have sensitive skin and hair removing lotions scare me in that area, but are they a good option? Help me MM!
I wax my own bikini line. I know that most people think that's crazy, but I don't find it that hard.
Same here. It's really not that hard, it's a fraction of the cost, and takes maybe 15mins vs having to make an appt around so done else's schedule (why I am way overdue on my brows).
ETA: I do more than bikini line. It's not always a perfect Brazilian, but I don't really leave anything but the landing stip.

Do you have an European Wax Center near you? Their prices are lower and you can buy in bulk reducing the price even more. I find their wax to be more comfortable than at other places, as well.
I need it totally clean. It's my preference by far. I think it goes with my need to keep everything clean and orderly. I'll check into DIY and if there is an European Wax in my area.
I DIY. I bought a Gigi hard wax kit off of Amazon for $30-$40. There's definitely a learning curve, but it gets easier. It's so much cheaper than going to the salon.

I hate to be nitpicky, but please say you need to keep it bare, not clean.
I don't care what people do with their pubes, but can we please stop with the idea that they're dirty?
This is what I was wondering as well. After getting into a routine, you should be able to stretch it out to 6-8 weeks.
Now that you mention it, I might have even gone every 8 weeks. But whatever it was, it wasn't 4 weeks. It's much more MM that way!
Same here! I do 6 weeks now, and it's fine. I've bought the 12 pack to European Wax twice now. I think it works out to ~$35/visit, and then I tip each time.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

Definitely look into places that do only Brazilian Wax. My first Brazilian was $60 at a spa, then I learned about a waxing place in a strip mall that does a good job for $30. Waxing places like this are all over Atlanta now, and I'd imagine most metro areas have them. I get a $30 Brazilian (plus tip) every six weeks.
Ditto the others who suggested going less often. I go every 5-6 weeks and I'm trying to push it out to 6 each time to save $$. I'm sure I could do it at home, but it's just so much easier to pay someone else to do it who knows what they are doing. And now that I'm pregnant, I'm not sure DIY would be an option for a few months.

This is a good suggestion too. I go to a local place and it's only $38 plus tip.
I've used Nair a handful of times and it worked just fine. They have different kinds intended for different parts of the body, so just make sure you are getting the right one
I transitioned to shaving and it's been working out fine. I used to always have razor burn/ingrown hairs when I did that, but I think your skin adjusts after a while and I don't have that issue anymore. I just make sure to keep up with it (which sometimes means 1-2 times a week, not daily) so I do get some stubble in between but keeping up with it cuts down on irritation I think. I just use a regular razor, I can't recall what it's called, but it's one where you can get refills at Costco if that helps.
I've only been waxed once and got a lot of ingrowns from that too, so I think your body adjusts to whatever you do.
I've used my epilator on the bikini line and the upper area, but I would never even try to do the lower more sensitive areas. Hell no. I'm also not a good candidate for laser removal, so I just suck up the $50 every 6 weeks.
@sfgal530 - how many sessions did it take? I reeeeeally want to get laser hair removal and when I think of how much I spend on waxing, it's more cost effective in the long run to get lasered...
