Sounds like everyone is hating this summer. So let's get it out. Put your crabbing here. Tell me your thoughts on this summer hell.......
Me? I'm so over living in swampass heat. If I could live where it's 70s during the day and 40-50s at night, I'd be in heaven! I swear this summer heat is making me feel like I've never run before. 1-1.5 months to go til mayyyybe a bit of relief here. I better be faster this fall after this. They say it's our warmest July on record. Yay

I've been spending more time looking at real estate listings in New England. Haha, we still have a few more years before that's feasible. Never been a fan of the heat.

Lol me too. H thought he was gonna end up in VA a few months back and I was soooooo excited. Then that didn't work out damn

Haha, you know it's bad when when VA would be considered more temperate.

LOL Aren't you scheduled to move even further south?
I've been looking at a lot of cooler weather real estate as well. I thought DH was going to snap this weekend. We were miserable.

Bounced around the idea, but neither of us could see living there long term either. I think we're staying put for now until we can make the "big move" back north.
This summer hasn't been unreasonably warm-but I still hate the early morning runs when it's 70 degrees and 90+% humidity. I am to the point where I get giddy when the forecast is below 65 and "low" humidity (<85%) for my 5am runs :/
I don't feel like I can complain compared to those who live in warmer climates to begin with. Here in Western NY it's technically been a "cooler" summer. That said, I still prefer my spring and fall temps along with low humidity. So yeah, I'm ready to be done with it.
I feel like after 5 years, I am finally getting use to the heat/humidity. Then weekends like this roll along, and I get so pissed at the weather.
I am vain, so while I hate what this weather does to limit my outdoor physical activity, I get more pissed that I look like complete shit May-October. Hello, greasy, sweaty skin and frizzy hair 24/7!

We've actually had a very nice summer here, so I can't complain too much. My complaint is more about my body's inability to regulate temperature. I get both overheated and cold very easily.

I am so sick of the heat and humidity, and not just because it's affecting my workouts. I'm tired of looking like I climbed out of a swimming pool after 5 minutes of running. I'm tired of heat indices of 102+. And I can't believe I'm actually looking forward to running outside after work because it will be 89* with a mere 68% humidity. Stop telling me how lovely the weather is going to be, weather people! It's still damn hot and muggy!
It's gotten to the point here where A/C systems just can't keep up. I've taken to living in the basement. However, I keep telling myself that this will prepare me well for Kiawah!

I'm up in New England. And the running still sucks here. I was drenched after 8 miles the other day. I'm not sure how you do it in warmer cellmates. I've also been running only since October so I have nothing to compare this summer to. My sister said I was turning into a real runner when I saw the forecast of 70* this weekend and was jumping for joy.
I feel like we've had a beautiful summer so far in Chicago (and I also spend a lot of time in Michigan) but we deserve it after this past winter! Damnit. I don't envy all of you with the crazy heat! I ran in Texas a few weeks ago and about died 2 miles in.
It hasn't been too bad here in the northeast, but I think I'm still not mentally over marathon training through the brutal winter we had.
This is why I am trying to embrace summer, and power through. Not that we had a brutal winter, but I hate, HATE, running all of my runs in the dark cold. As much as this heat & humidity sucks, I love having daylight. If I actually get into Boston, I am dreading the training. It amazing to see what it does to my mood. By the end of my last winter cycle, most of the fun had been sucked out of my running. If we could just stop with this time change nonsense, I'd be much happier. Cold I can handle, but the lack of daylight can screw right on off.

Nope, nope, nope. Except for some cold, rainy weather we had last week (which actually was kind of nice), we've had almost the perfect Seattle summer. Hovering around 80 with ~40% humidity. Nowhere near ready for summer to be over.

The good thing is that it will last at least until October!
What sadlebred said. I hate winters in the north east with a passion so summer can go on forever for all I care. Although Fall is my favorite season. Every winter I want to move south.
This summer has been pretty mild in PA so I can't complain too much. But I don't think I want to train during summers anymore. It really drains you!
But I really can't complain, Seattle summers are pretty rad!
True story. It can get tough to beat the heat in the late afternoon/evening on a hot day, during a heat wave where it doesn't cool down at night, but the temperature is pretty great.
In Chicago - it is not hot here. It hasn't been hot all summer. Upper 70's/low 80's. Can't complain about that. But its kind of weird...like, where is the oppressive heat? Is it just not going to happen this year?
Plus also - I saw Canadian geese in the park on my run on Sunday. That's...not a good sign I don't think. It isn't even August yet.

Let me put your mind at ease. Rockin the 90s (HI in the 100s) here in FL, and we have the geese year round. They're everywhere. They walk by my office window, the hiss at me on my run. Actually...they may be visiting from FL to cool off for a bit. LOL!
