I was going to start this summer because I am off (teacher) but I kept putting it off. I did 1 day of the 3 day method and then things came up and I had to put it on hold. So now I am thinking of waiting until my Winter Break.

H trained very easily but I found that first month stressful, until I trusted that she wouldn't have an accident which she never did outside the house. I hate taking kids in public restrooms. I keep putting it off.

In the midst of PTing life is definitely more of a PITA. I was kind of wary to go places much for fear of an accident. And right after, there was a lot of running to the bathroom in stores or pulling over so she could pee in the potty, so that wasn't super easy either.
After they are completely potty trained it's nice. I'm not PTing C2 in the near future either.
Dude I'm so glad you said this. I wanted to post about how little I change him, but I was afraid I was neglecting him or something, lol.
On the weekends, I probably only change her one time between when she gets up and when she goes to bed. So like 3 diapers per 24/hr period. :? Unless she poops or she tells me she's wet and asks for a change.
But yeah, it's easy and inexpensive! ha.
LOL this is us
There are way to many occassions when it will be like 7 pm and Leo's diaper is suuuper droopy. H and I look at each other and are like "When was the last time we changed him. If he doesn't poop after nap I forget to change him all afternoon.

I'm not looking forward to potty training. Diapers are so easy and we cloth diaper so we won't save any money potty training. She tells me when she pees and poops but doesn't ask to be changed. One reason why I'm dreading it is that I hate public bathrooms. It's a weird phobia of mine and I avoid them at all costs so I don't want to have to find a bathroom and use it when we are out. I guess we will do it when we are stuck inside this winter.

I only had to clean up a single little pee puddle so far.
the poop is what freaks me out. Matilda hasn't pooped in days so I have no idea what to expect.
the idea of trying to clean it up is just overwhelming to me. I really hope it happens at daycare.
And how do you teach them to wipe properly? I assume you don't even attempt any of that now while they are this age? do you try to clean all poop off while they are standing up? I imagine it would also be all over the seat.

uggggghhhhh
I have her "dab" the front so she doesn't stick her while damn arm in the toilet. Then I life her off and tell her to touch her toes. Then I wipe her butt. It's the only way I've found that works so far. I also have those disposable wipes for poo use.
I'm with you, TrudyCampbell. I have no problems with diapers (probably because I didn't change them very often), but apparently L did because she's insisting on potty training. I was planning to put it off until our holiday travel was finished, so I'm annoyed and probably shouldn't be. It's nice not to have to clean up poopy diapers, but I could do without the public restrooms.
I'm happy to see this post- I was feeling bad that I have zero desire to potty train. Diapers are so easy. We let J sit on the potty when he asks, and even that drives me a little crazy. "I'm all done. Noooo Mama, I stay on potty." Promptly followed by him standing up and pee sloshing all over the floor. I'm not cut out for potty training.

I'm so jealous! We go through so many diapers. He poops at least three times every day, plus a few pee ones. I change him if he wakes up in the MOTN, so we usually go through 6-8 diapers a day.
We went to the zoo with a friend on Friday, and I only shoved two diapers in my purse to cover the couple hour outing. He pooped three times while we were there, and I had to beg my friend for a diaper to get home.
I had planned to wait, but C started showing interest recently. He's been in underwear the past two days and has only had one accident. He's the only non-PT kid in the toddler rooms at daycare, so the teachers seem pretty keen to help train him. I need to go buy more underwear because I only bought one pack on a whim.
They have the cutest toddler size real porcelain toilets in his daycare room!
I'm with ya, Trudy. I have enough to deal with with a cranky newb, no way I'm adding frequent bathroom trips to that right now. I need C to get a LOT easier before I even consider potty training. Oh, and G is scared of the potty anyway. Lol, so I don't see that going to well.
It's like looking in a mirror.
And hey, think of all the Huggies points we are earning while the rest of you suckers are buying underwear.
I cannot handle the thought of taking a potty everywhere. I refuse to believe being PTd is easier. There's no way.
We don't take a potty. With boys it's super easy, they can pee anywhere
The beginning of PT is stressful, knowing where all the public loos are. But now DS2 can hold it pretty well, 10-15 mins if need be so we don't have to rush out of the store or anything.
It's still so soon anyway. At Matilda's daycare in the 2.5-3 age room is when they start working on it with the kids. So until the child is 3 it's not even remotely "late" I think.
