Now, see y'all messing with my butter pecan ice cream. Y'all doing too dayum much. I mean, I don't even eat CFA but twice a month. But my ice cream. Hellz Nah. I eat my Hagen Daaz like twice a week. I run JUST so I can eat my ice cream.
I am Unable to Can with y'all today.
Ben and Jerrys man! They have DELICIOUS ice cream!
Oh, I eat Ben and Jerry's too. But, dear Baby Jesus. The Hagen Daaz Butter Pecan and Bourbon Praline are DIVINE.
I have like 5 pints in the freezer at this very moment. I might eat some right now. I am running in the morning.
I don't get why people feel the need to flaunt doing something that obviously means a lot to other people. Do you get pleasure in doing that? Is it fun mentioning that your child is clothed in clothing from a company that has arguably the worst human labor rights violations out there? A source of pride?
I'm all for good natured back and forth, but for FUCKS SAKE.
Only on page three, but I'm with Pixy. And she's going to have a million notifications from all of my likes. Sorry, Pixy
I saw them coming in and thought, "Yay! Jermys is here!"
I would have been here sooner, but I had an ADD issue today where I was cleaning the kitchen and then all of a sudden, I was painting the ceiling. And then the walls.
Jesus, I can never get that picture of the Ugandan man being burned alive out of my head just because of who he has sex with. I think the food would taste like vomit if I ever did eat it. And I think of when the CFA bullshit was going down, and people were posting pictures on FB showing their cups and food wrappers, and how hurtful it was to a lot of my friends and loved ones. I just can't do CFA. It's not worth it.

You know, I don't love that this is the choice I've made but since it's coming down to eating or clothing my kids in TCP, then yeah, that's what happens.
I don't eat at cfa as I refuse to wait in line for 20 minutes. Everyone pics their fights. No one in here doesn't...either through choice or not looking into a company/industry.

I have never made a PW recipe that didn't turn out. Every time I tell H I'm making one of her recipes he's excited.
her chicken spaghetti from her first cookbook is disappointing. But that's kind of it. I am not a fan of some of her "fancier" recipes because, lets face it, if I'm making a super fancy meal, I'll use Julia Child or Silver Palate. But her recipes are overall really good.
My christmas eve menu was basically all PW. Well I made the tenderloin just with salt and pepper, but I made her popovers, burgundy mushrooms, brussel sprouts (which were AWESOME) and her "boozy bread pudding." WINNERS ALL.
Oh I see we've stopped talking about the pioneer woman.
I'm always ok with talking about her.
Dr pepper pulled pork, anyone?
I have not tried this but I really want to. we are having a "back to football party" which is going to entail her grilled corn dip, probably her chicken nuggets (posted earlier in this thread) and then I'm intrigued by her watermelon pico de gallo so I may try that. Except Homesick Texan also has a similar recipe so I feel like I should use hers.

OMG, you Have to make it. Watch the peppers, though. The first time I made it I used half the recipe amount and it was still way too hot.
thats why it makes me nervous! it seems like it would be too spicy. Maybe I will try it for our party though. Or have my mom make it this weekend when I'm visiting and then she has to buy the pork ;-)
If it was all just no big deal I don't think Mayor Menino in Boston would have said no fucking way are you coming into our city.
You don't think a mayor would capitalize upon a politically popular issue with his constituents?
This may have been covered already, and if so I apologize, but Menino is 100% motivated by $. If he "didn't let" a chik fil a into boston it's because they weren't giving him enough $. Same reason boston doesn't have Fios. Comcast gives more $ to him (have, he's no longer mayor) than Verizon is willing to.

you can put in 1-2 peppers and a little of the sauce and you're fine. i'm not really into spicy foods and that does it for me. i like a little kick and those are just enough.
At the height of the CFA scandal they opened a location in our town. From all appearances it's clean, nice and does decent business. I'll never know more than that because I won't step foot in there. Or shop at Walmart. Or buy Nestle products. I can't change their business practices but I don't have to support them.
What's wrong with Nestle? They used to have a big factory in DH's hometown, and a lot of his family worked there. His Grandma calls it Nessles.
This is totally random but I grew up in a town with a nestle factory in it. My dad worked there actually. Old people in our town also called it Nessles!

You'll need to do better than that to convince me. At the time of the CFA bullshit he had already announced it was his last term and he is very sick (later announced that he had cancer). Do you mean handing him sacks of cash? Not buying it.

YES YOU SHOULD!
Because she is not a talentless, plagiarizing hack who claims that something came to her in a goddamned VISION despite the internet being filled with similar recipes!
Seriously, do not give PW more money. Just go buy a church cookbook at a yard sale. SAME RECIPES!
