I am going to the beach in 2 days. I am so excited about that. I hope the weather cooperates, but it will be so nice to have a relaxing and fun family vaca.

DH got some weekend days off in August! I might be able to squeeze in a race. I'd love to check in on my running progress (or perhaps lack thereof, lol) this month.
I'm still riding the high of my latest 5k PR (28:47) from last night, which was a 24 second PR. I also am hoping for a PR of sub 1 hr at my 10k this weekend. I'm running another 5k tonight as well. I love the weather we are having for all my running as well. I'm excited for this weekend too.

I had the best long run ever yesterday. You know how long runs are supposed to be at an easy, conversational pace? I feel like I have never ever been able to do that. I'm always huffing and puffing. Yesterday though, I felt great and could talk the whole time. The weather was great, the company was good - it was just a perfect day. It was slower that I usually run, but well within the range McMillan says I should do my long runs in order to hit my goal.
While my runs have been embarrassingly slow the past couple days, I'm still loving every minute. I can't wait for cool temps to see how much I've gained running thru this summer!!
I love seeing more definition in my body and really look forward to seeing more changes. I am working hard on keeping a positive attitude and thank you ladies for the motivation that I get from reading this board!

I adopted a new running partner over the weekend He's an 11mo old frisbee obsessed rescued border collie. My senior border collie is retiring from disc so I'm really looking forward to working with a new partner.
I took several months off running when I was dealing with some Life stuff. I just couldn't deal with running, too. Anyway, I'm back to it! It's sucky to have to regain all the ground I lost, but I went almost 2 miles this AM. (My farthest had been 4.5 miles.)
Is there an August streak group going on? I don't see one but just wanted to make sure.
Today's happy sh!t is that after a super stressful period at work, today I took an impromptu day off! Had a great run this morning, coffee on the porch and spent time with a good friend and our dogs at the dog park. This afternoon's festivities include test riding some road bikes at my LBS, a nap, and then an evening bike ride with DH....end point our village brewery for a pint.
DH left a note on my nightstand with a bottle of my favorite wine inviting me to a "date" tonight on our deck after the kids fall asleep. I am so ridicuously excited, he has never in the twelve years together done anything romantic like this. I feel like a teenager in love and it feels good, it hasn't felt like this in a long time. Now all I have to do is stay awake!
