I'm so ready to have my kitchen back. I was taking a nap and as I was dozing off I started fantasizing about baking muffins.
Also, how much milk are your kids drinking? We bought a gallon on Saturday afternoon, and it will be gone by bedtime tonight! That means A is downing roughly a quart a day all by himself... IDK, excessive?
We go through 2.5 gallons a week, basically a gallon every 3 days between the two of them.
I just found out my best friend is staying in Turkey to finish her dissertation for at least a year. I'm happy for her because I know how important this is for her, but I'm really, really going to miss her.
Matilda finally pooped! OMG six days the poor child. We ended up giving her a glycerin suppository and then shortly after she did an ENORMOUS poop on the potty. Very exciting
Does anyone think it is weird for me to get video monitor for me kids room in Colorado? Since day 1 with Dylan and then Mia, their bedroom has always been right next to ours. I have always comforted myself with the thought that if anything happens, we will hear it. The way our apartment is set up in Colorado, the bedrooms are on complete opposite ends. This makes so uncomfortable!! I know many of you are even on different floors as your kids...I almost feel like FTM jitters but I am very concerned!!! What if someone breaks in and I don't hear it???
Well, technically, a video monitor isn't necessary to hear a break-in.
Yesterday, I got a facetime call from Chris (my brother's name) so I answered expecting to see my nephew. It was actually 7 and 8 year old brothers who I taught/will be teaching this year whose mom shares a name with my brother. I was super confused, told them to have a good summer, and hung up. I missed 3 more calls from them today.
I am guessing that they are able to do it through my email which probably shows up under their mom's contacts. I just sent the mom an email saying that I think it is really sweet that they want to talk to me, but please tell your kids to stop calling me!
I had dinner with one of my families I work for. Monday is my last day (I only work m/w) with them. I have been with them for 18 months. She wrote me the sweetest letter thanking me for all I have done. I cried In addition to getting baby a gift they have Brady a goofy doll and some race cars. I've been so blessed to work with some awesome families over the years but this family really treated Brady as family even on his worst of worst weeks.
My husband and I were just talking about whether a hot dog is a sandwich. He thinks it's not, nor is a hamburger or a burrito. I'm irrationally mad at him for being so wrong.
We go through 1 gallon of milk a week and I drink 2/3 of it. G doesn't seem to drink much water either but I keep trying to push the liquids.
My mom is coming a week from yesterday! I'm so torn about really wanting to no longer be pregnant but wanting the baby to wait until my mom arrives to watch G before making his appearance.

Interesting. You might be able to convince me on the hamburger, possibly the hotdog, but definitely not the burrito.
You could turn any of these things into sandwiches though by slicing them and placing them between two pieces of bread.
A burrito is definitely not a sandwich. tortilla does not equal bread.
J is not readjusting to east coast time. He went to sleep at 8pm, but woke up asking for food at 10:30. He is still up and it is past midnight even though he has been in bed again for at least an hour.

A video camera might have prevented H's self-hair cut and other sneaky things.
nannerl I love that you dream about baking muffins. How are you settling in?
My kid has decided sleep is for the weak. So tired.
I kind of wish my dreams had been a little more scintillating, but hey ho. Baking muffins it is.
We are kind of in a holding pattern right now as far as the move goes. If nothing weird happens we are scheduled to close on the house around the 10th of August. Our stuff is due into town around the same day, but then it has to be inspected and no one knows how long that will take. They are guessing they will be able to deliver it sometime in the 20's of August. Baby is due on the 22nd of August.
It's a little nerve-wracking. Once we close and the stuff can be delivered, between the moving crew, DH, myself, and my parents, we can have the furniture unwrapped and placed and the main stuff unpacked within 48 hours. I'm just hoping all that will happen before I go into labor so I have a home to come back to!

Sleep littler cashew sleep!!!

Awww... you are so sweet! There has been a little corner rocking, I assure you. I too hope Pinto stays put. I'm guessing I will go at least a few days over, as the women in my family have never had a baby go before the due date, and only one on the due date. Most of us are in for at least 41 weeks, so we don't even start counting down until 40 +1 :-)
Oooh nannerl this is good news that your genes are for later babies! It all makes for an exciting story for Pinto too. May I ask what your H does that you all are so well traveled?
