We are getting a 48" dual fuel range for our kitchen. We are going with KitchenAid, but can't decide between two models. (We did price out Viking and Wolf but they are just more than we are comfortable spending). Here are the models:
Option 1 - cheaper option, griddle is to the very right
Option 2 - about $1,000 more, has "steam assist" which frankly we don't care about. Griddle is between burners.
To us, the only real difference between the two is the location of the griddle. DH likes having the griddle more in the middle. I am not so sure if that's worth an extra $1,000. Anyone have feedback on this?
When I saw just the picture of the range, I liked the more expensive one. When I scrolled down and looked at them in kitchen spaces, I think either one would be okay.
I googled the Wolf 48" to refresh my memory and it appears that the griddle(s) on those are in the middle. That might be why #2 is more expensive.
One thing that I like about the second one is that you have the two burners separate from the others, so if you have an oversized pan for one thing, it can fit over there while you are using other burners for regular sizes of pots and pans.
