Oh, I'm so sorry your pooch is facing this. I hope his meds do what they're supposed to do, and fast. It sounds like your vet is super conscientious, and the dog is in the best place for him, getting really attentive care. I hope you can get to the wedding, and while there, I hope you can enjoy yourself a bit. I'm sure you'll be worried, but I hope you can have fun at the wedding. Good luck, and safe travels (because I'm imagining the doggie is on the mend and you'll feel okay going.)

I read your update, and that's so good that the vet is optimistic that he can be OK! I have everything crossed for him and you both. Sending all my good puppy vibes to him that he stabilizes and comes out of this just fine. I can't imagine how scary this is.
I'm so sorry he's sick. Sounds like he's in good hands with your vet, though.
When I was growing up, we had a dog who went through something similar. It was a long road but he ended up being fine and living the good life for many more years.
I'm so sorry! I really hope he stabilizes so you can go to PR and without worrying too much.
I had a cat who had a couple near-death experiences due to his diabetes and he looked SO BAD but he pulled through each time and lived for years. So I know tabby cats are not pugs but if animals are young they can be very resilient.
I'm so glad to hear that there's improvement! Did your vet talk to you about periodically checking the pup's gums at home? It's a good warning sign in case it gets bad again -- the gums should be dark pink, but when the dog gets anemic, they'll be pale pink to white.
Oh no, mo! This sounds so much like what happened to my Peanut two years ago.
I hope they figure out what is wrong soon and get him back on the road to health!
Peanut was a Pug, right? What happened?
Yep, both of my dogs are/were pugs. Peanut didn't make it, he had a ton of allergy issues so they were pretty sure it was an autoimmune issue but just didn't get to dx him in time. It was literally one day he was fine and two days later I had to carry him because he could no longer walk, . He was elderly and not in the best of health, he was on steroids all of the time bc of the allergies. That poor dog was a mess.
Buca was dx'd with a tick disease this year. He ended up pretty sick but after the treatment is going up and down the stairs again, which I haven't seen him do since we moved into our new house almost two years ago. My old vet said he was just "getting old."
Effing pugs, man. I'm so glad it sounds like you have an awesome vet. I'll keep my fingers crossed you only get good updates this weekend and are able to enjoy yourselves, even a little.
