This is seriously pissing me off. My husband's team is literally deploying to Sierra Leone right now to be on the front lines of this battle against Ebola. This is not some bio-weapon. This is a disease epidemic and literally hundreds of the best trained scientists in the country are working 24/7 to identify the source and cause of the outbreak so they can stop it. They are literally risking their lives for the good of humanity. These fruitcakes and their collodial silver can kiss my ass.

This gem was on my FB this morning  - Ummmm.... Yeah, so a patient infected with the Ebola virus is going to be transported from Africa to a hospital in Atlanta! Definitely don't see anything going wrong with that idea!!
I mean does this fool think that said patient is going to be stuffed in a coach seat on a United Airlines flight and then waltzed into just any ole hospital in Atlanta? Oh. My. God. Use your fucking brain.

My resident FB crazy thinks it's not ebola, but acute viral-induced scurvy. Or that it's possibly a medical propaganda op. But possibly just some sort of routine illness that people who live in "areas of the world where severe malnutrition, starvation, lack of basic sanitation, contaminated water, overcrowding, heavy pollution are present" can get because of the conditions.

And that all these people need is to take liposomal C supplements, and problem solved!

There is a bit of an outrage on FB about "gasp" they are bringing them into the US! And the people agreeing is a bit mind blowing. How can there really be THIS many dumb people out there?

"They" are bringing a single AMERICAN to Emory Hospital in Atlanta (I live in Atlanta - this on the news here like wildfire). The containment unit at Emory was designed for CDC employees exposed to pathogens like this at the CDC. While I agree it is scary and I don't understand how they are transporting the patient from the airport to Emory - I'm sure they have a plan in place. I wish people could get this worked up about stuff that they could make a difference in - i.e. voting, education, civil rights. No. They just talk out of their ass on facebook and act like their google-fu is better than the years of education/residencies/fellowships that these drs have completed to train for this.

People are just dumb. The CDC is transporting them in private planes and vehicles that are equipped to handle infection. I am so glad I deleted all of the crazies off of my FB. I can only imagine what they are saying. These are Americans aid workers. What are we supposed to do, leave them over there? Bringing them here to be treated in a controlled environment might actually HELP the CDC come up with better treatment protocols.
