My 12 month old, who was previously nursing 3+ times per day when we are together has suddenly stopped nursing. He started daycare (2 days per week) last week and has a slight cold and is teething, so I'm really hoping that's why he's not nursing. It just seems like he doesn't need me at all today and I'm kind of devastated. Does this sound like a nursing strike, or like he's weaning? If it's a nursing strike, what can I do? I have no idea how I'm going to get him to sleep tonight...
It is a nursing strike, but you can either fight through it or take the opportunity to wean. If you want to fight through, head over to kellymom.com and read up all their ideas. kellymom.com/bf/concerns/child/back-to-breast/
I'd offer milk by bottle/cup just to keep him from being really hungry. And I'd just cuddle/rock to sleep if he's not nursing.

My son did something similar around that age and we did push through. I just kept offering and pumped to ensure my supply. He started nursing again about four days later. We nursed until 18.5 months.
My advice is just keep offering and don't get upset if he rejects nursing. Just keep offering.
