13 (I believe) protestors were arrested last night. The police have changed their tactics, they are now in orange jumpsuits and their bail is double what it has previously been for the same charges.
St. Louis County is taking over the nightly protest patrol.
The feds said they will not give the PDs any money to pay out the use of all the military items, pay overtime, etc.

While I think this is best, what kind of affect is this going to have on the community? The money has to come from somewhere.
I was all happy about this and lightly making fun of the pearl clutching woman, until I watched again and heard what the guy with her says around 35 sec. Now I am back to being disgusted and dejected.

What did he say?!
Did I hear it right? "He was a thug?" I had to listen several times and I'm still not sure that I heard it right. And what is with the toothy grin on the guy at 1:00? I'm still trying to figure out what was said.

It sounds like it to me. The toothy grin guy is the one who said it.
The person who filmed it is a reporter for St. Louis America. She was the only media person who knew about it beforehand. She thinks she hears "he was a thug" and asks him what he said and he just gives that grin. She said the woman was cussing a lot.
@rebeccarivas: @nayaknomi @colleenkelly @organizemo Not sure. I asked him to repeat it and he just gave me that grin. His lady was cussing up a storm too
There's a whole lot of crazy in that article. Sandwiches being mistaken for guns. Tasers? Searching for extra clips while pointing his gun at the crowd?

Why was he giving them chase? Says he was doing personal security, did he have on a uniform? Why approach them in the first place, were they breaking the law?
The Shaw neighborhood pays a Special Business District tax to hire extra security. The private security is made up of off duty city officers who are in their city uniform.
A 9mm was recovered. Three shots were fired before the suspects gun jammed.
I'm really confused about this sandwich / he was unarmed / no a gun was recovered business.
This is the families (which I belive were not witnesses) version of events. The chief said a 9mm was recovered. Three shots had been fired before the gun locked up.
Twitter went crazy with it last night. The Post printed it before the official statement was made by the police.
