Nah they're still around. We used one a few years ago. Although I don't think she did much we couldn't have done online, it was a lot less work on our part.
Yep, my sister is one! It's not her primary job though. I always at least check to see if she can get me a better or same price as I find online to give her the business.

Of course there are. We used one a couple years ago when we went to Mexico. we'd never been, we were taking DS, and we were going w/ another couple. We knew NOTHING about the area, what resorts were good for kids, etc. I started doing some research on my own, but honestly found it overwhelming.
By using an agent, we were able to use her expertise (she had actually been to the resort we went to) and she was able to easily arrange travel for all of us (the other couple was flying from another state) and coordinate our arrival times, ground transportation, etc.
We do a lot of travel planning ourselves, but this was a trip tha twe totally felt out of our element.
See, Fiance and I are planning our honeymoon, and want to go to the Caribbean. I've been there before, but only on cruise ships. It'd be nice to talk to someone about it who has more info on the area, things to do, places to stay, etc, instead of just booking something online.
We used one when we went to Europe. It worked out well because we didn't know much about where we were going and they offered a neat cooking class/dinner package one night that was only available through them which was awesome. And we got great hotels in great locations.
