I decided against going camping this weekend. Though I miss my friends as this is usually the only time of year we all see each other.
On the other hand, this gives me a ton of time to work on the room. We have a ceiling! My dad, H, and I put it up a few days ago and I'm finishing up the spackel and sanding. One more coat of spackel and the ciling should be ready to paint, which I'll leave to H. Then I can paint the walls, pull up the nasty carpet that is in there, clean the subfloor and get the new carpet in.
Then it's a 6-8 week wait until the furniture gets here. I knew it would take a while but did anyone order furniture with the same expected wait time and get it earlier? Part of me can't wait b/c I have piles of baby stuff to put away but I also don't want it coming so soon before the carpet is even down.
I bought some dates today. I heard a few days ago that eating 6 dates a day can act as a natural nudge toward labour as it helps soften your cervix. And then last night my yoga instructor mentioned it as well. You can start them from 34 weeks so I thought today would be a good day. That along with my red raspberry leaf tea tablets should hopefully help.
I'm going to go buy dates & raspberry leaf tea tablets on Monday. I want my cervix softed so it hopefully helps with the induction.

My u/s went well! Baby is measuring on time to the day! We got to see it squirming around The tech said the placenta is low so that was most likely causing some spotting. It's also an anterior placenta so I probably won't feel baby for a while. I'm so relieved and happy!
Good to hear @estrellita! I also have an anterior placenta and I really don't feel her move much at all. It also took a while before I felt the first big movements.

Do you know how to take the RLT? Don't start with a full dose, you need to build it up. Also they not used for softening the cervix, they make your contractions stronger because they tone the uterus, therefore they should hopefully make your labour shorter. The only down side is that they can make your after pains worse when you nurse baby. I took them the first time round and had a short labour so I do recommend them. The other way I have heard to soften your cervix is evening primrose oil, but I have not tried that myself.

Take the evening primrose capsoles? Are there instructions some where for the red raspberry?
The RLT can be taken from 34-35 weeks. You start with one tablet a day for the first week, then 2 a day the next week, 3 a day the third week and 4 a day the fourth week. I stop at a max of 4 a day, but I do know of people that gave worked their way to 6 tablets a day. I discussed this with my midwife and followed the same advice last time.
With the EPO I have heard of people both a swallowing them and inserting 2 up their wahoo at night before bed. They do use a pad though as it can get messy. I don't know the dosage for swallowing because I have not tried it.

I've been watching Grey's Anatomy. Early season so when Kate Walsh was still on the show. So babies being born with issues here and there. Not a good idea. Especially when I go home for lunch and bawl my eyes out and then have to go back to work. But I can't stay away lol.
I had a second breakfast today. The bowl of cereal I had wasn't cutting it, so I ordered biscuits and gravy from a restaurant down the street. It was so good, and I can already tell I'll be hungry by the time lunch rolls around.
We need to start cleaning out rooms this weekend. I told H we needed to clean out the closet, and he was very surprised that the baby will need a whole closet.
yea for second breakfast! and now I am envious of yours. Cause my options are pretty narrow at home, and biscuits sound so good right now.
My plans this weekend include pressuring DH to cut down his collection of 70 shirts in the one closet so we can make room for his clothes which are in the guest room which needs to be vacated so we can get this nursery started. Why did I marry such a clothes whore?!?! lol. So yes, fun weekend of closet purging for us too!

We're flying back home today from our vacation. 9 hours, 2 flights with a 26.5 week pregnant gal and a 2.5 year old. Really wish I could have a stuff drink right about now.
