The most comfortable I have found are Mephistos, but they are pretty pricy. I've managed to find a few pair at extreme discount (anywhere from 60-80% off). Clarks and Born both make comfortable shoes. Luckily, there is a Clarks outlet nearby.
I also have a pair of Sofft pumps that are quite comfortable.
These were my recommendation, too. I can easily wear them all day at work, or out for an evening with friends, and my feet are totally fine. I've got a few colors.
I feel like my biggest issue may be finding wide fit. Clark's are not bad but finding the wide width is a pain. Same with many brands. So I guess I could chance ordering online and having to return. But I feel like that would turn into a lot of work.
It can't be normal to take months and multiple stores to find shoes, right? Bc that's what happens to me
Have you tried the Fitzwell brand? They have wide shoes in a ton of business appropriate styles. Available on Zappos, so free shipping and free returns.

I will check! I just looked up Clark's on Zappos and they don't have wide at all. The hell?
That doesn't make sense, as Clark's does make wide shoes. A couple of times I have tried to exchange a wide shoe for a half size smaller, but it really doesn't work for me. A 9 W does not work for my 9.5 M foot and a 9.5 W is sloppy on me.

My favorite brands are Born and Sofft. I've been wearing Sofft ballet flats and Born wedges and they're both so, so comfortable. I walk over 10k steps a day at work and feet feel great in those shoes. Anything else and I want to cut my feet off.

I would just order a massive order from Nordstrom and return most of it.
Do you have Plantar's Fascitis? Mine was horrendous until I got orthopedic slippers to wear around the house. It helped a ton. Now I can wear normal flats again.
