Mine is doing this too and I've had it just over a year. Super annoying to keep bringing the charger up and downstairs to plug in every time I want to use it. I'm so completely over how shitty monitors end up being. I had terrible luck with a Summer Infant one with DD and now the beloved Motorola? After spending hundreds of dollars on multiple video monitors, I'm not happy at all.
My DH is tempted to just take it apart and mess with it but I think I'll try calling Motorola tomorrow. I think is more than just the battery, I have to plug ours in just so to get it to even charge.
A wheel on my city mini is sticking too, also annoying and requires a phone call. All my baby gear seems to be conspiring against me.

Motorola has great customer service, I would just call them. I recently called them because our 2 yr old camera stopped transmitting sound and they sent me an entirely new monitor and camera.
