I don't have my first appointment until September 3rd. I've only thrown up once, but I am so nauseous all the time. It last all day and is worse in the evenings. I feel like I can barely function because I am constantly worried I am going to be sick. Is it worth calling and seeing if there's a prescription she can call in? I feel so weak for not handling this better. I'm just really bad at not feeling well. It just feels so early for this, like I should try to stick it out longer or something.
I tried the half a Unisom tablet plus a B6 tablet before I called for Zofran. I know it works for some people and it gave me mild relief before I hit 7 weeks or so and was puking like crazy.

Oh thank you! I will have DH go get those.
If you ladies have any other tricks that were helpful, throw them out there. I'll try anything!

Yes. Unisom and B6 did nothing for me. This time my m/s started right at 5 weeks and has been terrible ever since (I'm almost 11 weeks). I wouldn't be able to function with out zofran.
I'm going to call my doctor tomorrow and ask about zofran. DH is on his way to the store to get B6 and unisom. I'm hoping that will provide some relief tonight and tomorrow morning before I can get the prescription. Thank you, guys!
I hated zofran. It made me feel like I wanted to twitch, it was such an odd feeling. I found I just wasn't eating enough. So I forced down more food, and after a day of that my m/s was nearly gone. The second pregnancy has been the same. At 4 weeks I found out I was pregnant and realized that's why I was nauseated the few days before whenever I'd get hungry. I upped my calorie intake and have been fine since.
DH makes me a ginger tincture that I drink like a shot. Boil a hand-sized piece of ginger (chopped) for 15 minutes. Let cool, and strain liquid, discarding solids. Add honey to taste, the less honey you add the better it will work.
I am also nauseous 24/7 starting at 4 weeks (am 9 weeks now). I haven't actually thrown up, so I'm trying to handle it without Zofran. The ginger helps a lot. If this PG goes the same as #1, the nausea will end at the 2nd tri so I'm trying to hold out for another month.
Sorry you're feeling sick. I "toughed it out" with pregnancies 1-3. I was a miserable, puking mess. So stupid. With pregnancy #4 I got zofran. So much better. So my vote is, "call." FWIW, zofran isn't a cure all. Many people are still nauseated but it does curb the puking and help most of the nausea. Also, the constipation associated with the zofran is awful! Take colace with it.
The B6 and unisom may take a few days to kick in.
Other things that may take the edge off: - Don't let your stomach get completely empty. Nibble a cracker if you need to. Sometimes it took me an hour to finish a whole cracker. - Keep crackers or cheerios by your bedside. Eat some before you even roll over in the morning. (This one was key for me.) - Sip fluids. Dehydration can make you feel worse. - Suck on something sour. Sour patch kids, jolly rancher, lemon heads. - Gnaw on ginger or ginger gum.

Zofran helped with vomiting but not nausea for me. I was always nauseous. Ginger ale and something sour (hard candy, lemonade) helped some. Hang in there.

I wish they had something to give me in Peru, because I was on the edge of puking 24/7 for 13 weeks. I was miserable. Good luck, and I hope you get some relief!
Original coke and sucking on a lemon helped me manage at times. I still needed Zofran to keep from puking up every single thing that went into my stomach, but I could usually get by taking only 1 every couple days to keep things at bay a bit.

That's definitely been huge for me. I do get more nauseous when I am hungry. I am trying not to let myself get to that point, but it feels like I need to eat literally every hour. It's just not very realistic for me. I am trying though. I'll keep this in mind though. Maybe I just need to try eating more than I think I need.
@supergreen, I am going to try that tincture today. We have a soda stream, so I may try turning it into a soda to sip on throughout the day.
