I just dropped DH off at the airport. He's flying down to one of the Cali offices to meet with the head honchos to interview for a promotion. Even if he doesn't get the position, he'll have met the outgoing managing partner for the firm (40+ offices) and the incoming firm managing partner, plus heads of several departments nationally so it's a win-win. The managing partner of the Portland office is a good friend and supportive, as is the managing partner of the Seattle (home) office (who recommended him to the firm MP for the position when another candidate fell through) and both equity partners (also recommended him separately to the regional head before they knew about the alternate candidate), most of the support staff (when queried by the equity partners), head of the firm's labor department and a few others, even though he's lower on the totem pole rank-wise than most in the firm for the same position. There are only a couple of his level in the position and they are in significantly smaller offices.
I don't know if/when we'll get the word but he is (and I am) excited for the opportunity. :Y:
