I stared at this for an hour last night, recruited DH's help, and we couldn't come up with a better answer than El Paso. I used to be awesome at these things when I was in school! The internet has turned my brain to mush, obviously.

See, this is where my hyper-logical brain loses it.
El Paso? Because L pass O? Except no. They are letters. They don't fucking move. The L is now after the O. That is L after O, which to my knowledge is not a city.
And even if we're going to attribute movement to these inanimate objects, "pass" has been conjugated incorrectly. You either say, "L passed O" or "L has passed O" or "L is passing O" or "L will pass O."
What a letdown. I was hoping for a much cooler answer than El Paso, if that's the answer.
I wonder if this was a filler or some activity to see what kind of thinkers the kids are. I would never have sent this for homework. It's stupid because kids could just Google and look up the answers. At least in class you can see how fast kids are at figuring things out, who's working together, what they get right, etc.
Sometimes there are minilessons or activity just for variety. This might have been one.
You really have to watch how long you give the kids for those puzzles. There's only a short period of time where those are fun. If you don't figure them out within a certain amount of time, fun turns to frustrating.
*I'm really tired. Had to edit because one of my sentences had the same thing twice.

That's true for adults, too.
Done trying! Need answer! Google doesn't even know!
secretlyevil you need to edit the post title when you solve this shit for us. I get so disappointed every time it's updated with no solution. I bet that teacher has no clue how many adults are anxiously awaiting the answer.

Also I love actual logic puzzles, but if the answer is El Paso I'm with lasagnasshole that the grammar issue is bugging me and knocks this into the NOT ACTUALLY LOGICAL puzzle category. I guess "L passed O" kinda still sounds like El Paso, but still.
