And I think I'll pass, which means I'll pass the course and have an Oxford degree. Wahoo! I wrote: "Adaptations of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Anxious Children and Youth with High Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder". A mouthful but was interesting to research and write as I've worked with a few pre-teens, teens and young adults. And hopefully, if I keep working in this area, I'll be able to really get some good clientele, as many therapists over here have never been trained to recognise, no less work with, people on the spectrum.
Can I ask what you think of the mental health and therapy system over here?
NHS mental health system is struggling. Not enough therapists to work with the amount of people who need help, so there is a LONG waiting list and then you might only get six sessions. BUT, the people who do the work are trained well. As for outside the NHS - there's a lot of psychodynamic therapy which is not my thing, but CBT is growing, and more private health insurances are getting on board with paying for therapy. I do find that a lot of therapist are willing to accommodate income levels, which is nice.

Thanks for answering! Its interesting to see the differences in physical healthcare here (well, not so much interesting as aggravating when I'm dealing with another emergency, but you get my point), I did wonder how mental healthcare measured up.

I love the NHS as I have gone into debt in the US even with health insurance. But it does have some downsides at times. But I hope to never give it up. I've gotten great service overall and love that birth control is FREE and most prescriptions hardly cost a thing.

I did have a great experience getting the kids "jabs" with NHS. Overall its probably a good system, its just very foreign and confusing to me right now.

Totally get that. It gets easier after a while. And feel free to ask me anything - plus if you want to get together ever, I'm not working right now (but no pressure!).
