I think WHO recommends 6 months. I started BLW and sending purée pouches to dc when he was as little over 6 months. I don't think I'm planning to do BLW again.

They do. I was asking because all kids are ready at different times. I think when I had DS1, it was cereal at 4 months, then purees at 6? Now it's wait til 6 months. I think it initially had something to do with avoiding allergies. Either way, I just can't be bothered lol
I plan to wait until 6 months. She is acting like she is teething already though with all the finger chewing and drool going on over here. I keep telling her there is no need for teeth, she won't be eating anything solid anytime soon.
Faevantastic. Why are you avoiding BLW this time around?

I didn't find that there were any benefits to doing it. E is still a picky eater (though he's been better lately), plus the constant battle with H and family about fear of choking. Not worth the trouble for me.
Oh yeah, my mom told me that she started feeding me rice porridge at 3 months after I looked at her like she was crazy when she asked me if F was eating solids yet. Must be a cultural thing.

I agree about BLW not seeming to matter in the long run. Purees are really such a short amount of time, my kid will still learn what whole foods look like. We did it at first with J, but then he legitimately choked on bell pepper, it was terrifying and not worth if!
I'm also worried about food allergies. His diapers have gone back to green Wonder if I need to cut soy now. That will suck so bad!
Ugh, that blows. I'm off dairy too, and I ate 3 mushrooms with cheese on top on Saturday and she was up every hour, then had a gross green poop the next day. I went more hardcore dairy/soy free for G and it was so hard.
I don't know how you do it skiesthelimit when you wean are you gunna go hog wild? Lol
When I wean my BFF and I are going on a trip to Georgia and I'm going to eat ALL.THE.THINGS!!!!!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAHHA
