What is your experience with Mylicon (or generic) and/or gripe water? Has one worked better for you than another? Is it ok to use them together??
DD2 is really gassy all day and then gets super fussy about it about 9pm-2am. We bought, and have been using, gripe water and it has worked relatively well. I bought generic mylicon yesterday and would like to see if it helps prevent her gassiness before it even starts, but I'm not sure how/when to give it in relation to the gripe water habit we've gotten into.
How old is your DD?. Our pedi told us not to use gripe water on newborns since it takes up valuable real estate in the tummy. We used gas drops to good effect.

DS2 was a super gassy baby until about 3 months. Our pedi said Mylecon didn't do much of anything unless they actually had gas bubbles in their stomachs? Anywho, we were desperate and tried both. Neither helped much. The only thing that helped us was the Gerber Soothe Probiotic, it was like magic. It's pretty pricey, and I have only been able to find it in person at Walgreens. But our pedi had some coupons for it, so if you get to that point, you might ask them?
I haven't used either but my pediatrician sister described mylicon to me as "voodoo."
That's funny because in reality it's the opposite. Mylicon is a real drug that causes the air bubbles to consolidate, and gripe water has no proven effect.

She's 6 weeks.
6 weeks is when we started probiotics. They were a lifesaver. I would definitely try them!
