Apparently the soft cases were for flashlights, not scopes. That's better? That seems like a lot of flashlights!
The vehicle was SWAT, so it makes sense. I can't find a damn picture! This is a Dunkin right near the prison so it wasn't too strange.
I remember it being more hardcore looking than this one:
they might have just paid full price for it. Or this list is total bunk and therefore doesn't match reality.
conitnueing my review of the entire state of Maryland: the vast majority of the rural counties have just some rifles, scopes and sights. Except Queen Anne's, which has an mine resistant vehicle, and Somerset which has a couple of multifuel motorcycles (which doesn't sound like a bad idea to me) and a pile of utility trucks. Another of the southern eastern shore counties had a utility truck or two, I forget which one.
Harford county, however, has 3 observational helicoptors, 1 armored truck and 3 regular utility trucks. Uhhhh...ok?
I have a theory on this extreme cold weather stuff is that some of these PD's have staff in the department that handles procurement who are into backpacking/cold weather sports and they just...you know...added a thing here and there to the list.
I'm still looking. The most expensive thing they've bought in the last 10 years is a 650 thousand dollar mine resistant vehicle. What in the world, Columbus??

Nothing terribly interesting. Two shotguns, a couple of viewer mounts, a bunch of rifles... and then 10 night vision image intensifiers at almost $20,000 a pop.

I just watched Red Dawn the other day (the original, thank you very much) - you never know what could happen!!
Uh we have ten pages of stuff. So far, my favorite is on page 2, which says that we have a mine resistant vehicle. Personally, I've found that there is a huge risk of driving over a mine in TN. Happens at least once per NEVER.
