My home desktop computer just died a few days ago. The computer repair place said it's the power supply which would be about $55 to fix, but we've had nothing but problems with this computer and I hate it. I'd rather put the money toward a new one.
Since I have no idea what's out there these days (and I'm 100% technologically challenged), I'm looking for recommendations. DH suggested a laptop that I can just use as a hard drive and just plug into my monitor, then take it with me if necessary, but I can't think of any situation where I'd need to do that. I'm also not sure if they have enough power (is it memory? storage? no idea...). He also said something about computers with hard drives that are in the cloud, whatever that means.
I WFH and have a work desktop and a work laptop. All I want to use a home computer for is photos and home videos, electronic document/bill filing, and internet. Any recommendations? Cost isn't a factor, as long as the stupid thing actually works for once.
