My boss & her assistant are hosting a baby shower for me in a few weeks and I want to get them a "host" gift, but I can't think of anything.
Traditionally they spoil me with really nice gifts, so I get them more than I would for a "regular" host gift. Gifts in the past for Christmas/Bday for them have been Kate Spade sunglesses & makeup bags (& a wallet for one), earrings, Ipad cases, etc. So I can't just them them a random bottle of wine and call it a day. No gift cards.
I don't want anything TOO nice since it's just a host gift. Maybe $30-$50 each.
I used to be a sales assistant to an account exec and we always exchanged really nice gifts.
Some things I got for her were :
-Fresh gift set -Laura Mercier body scrub and lotion - I went to bloomies during a trunk show and got her a really cool necklace from a girl who makes everything herself. - set of the small Jo Malone perfumes - Diptique candle
hmm this is always a tricky one. Also, do you give it to them at the shower? After the shower?
You could always send them flowers afterward. Or take them for a mani/pedi (although I know your thoughts on that). Take them out to dinner? An "event" could be a fun thank you instead of an actual gift.

I don't know if I give it to them at the shower or after. Totally confusing.
Problem with event is that they're like my only friends here so we go to dinner all the time. They're the ones that actually made me get the pedi so that would be kind of funny if I made them go back with me. I did get a pedi giftcard for my bday to the same place, and now that I'm not terrified I'll probably go.
Someone suggested to me a basket with shower products with a note saying that I hope their shower is as good as mine was. I thought that was pretty cute. I could go higher end maybe...like Philosophy stuff or some other Sephora brand...(blanking right now!).

I have a Dillard's gift card that I haven't used too that could be applied. Any suggestions on "bath product" type stuff from Dillards? I don't do perfume, so I really don't go to the counters there much.

I always think it is nice to send flowers or a plant BEFORE the party. Then you don't have to decide when to give it to them and it will add something to their space.

I don't know if they sell Bliss products at Dillards, but that was the gift I got my sister for hosting my baby shower. IMO all their stuff is amazing.
Every once in awhile, you can get a great deal on their website - sign up for their email list. I think I managed to score a ton of stuff for my sister's gift at 40% off, which is a GREAT deal!
I've had friends give out host gifts before and after the shower. So I don't think there's a real rule to when you give it to them. What about a gc to get a massage or just a spa period and then they can choose which treatment to get. I'm a sucker for spa gift cards and it's my go-to hostess gift to help them relax and unwind after throwing the showers for me.

Unfortuntely these are like "regular beauty maintenance" girls. They go to get mani/pedis all the time and usually it's the shellac. They also go for regular hair stuff and one of them has a regular massage place (...that doesn't do gift cards - they're a little shady. We heard they got busted for happy endings, but they're still open, LOL!).
I love Origins too - forgot about them, but I can use my giftcard on my mascara that comes out in August - ha!
Okay, so I'm thinking I'll get little baskets of some sort from HomeGoods or Target and fill them with shower products (shower gel, lotion, a loofah...maybe a candle). Anything else "shower" related? Maybe a foot scrubber type thing?

The shower product idea is really cute, but whenever I'm looking for a more special type gift I always check out local, trendy boutiques, if you have any in your area. I know mine has handmade jewelry that's really cute, and all of their pieces are pretty one of a kind.
I did the shower note for my bridal shower; another variation on the actual note to them is: "Thank you for showering me with love; now enjoy yours", etc.

What about a nice umbrellas? It fits with the shower theme and most people don't actually buy them for themselves since there's so many free ones out there now.
The Butter London polish trio is really cute. I have the gold and silver from it already. The gold is my favorite one for golds.
Your bosses sound awesome! I want to work for them
Yeah, my boss is awesome. That's why I'm pretty upset about quitting soon to SAHM. At my last job I'd have told them to kiss my ass, but I really love working here. We're all going to cry when I leave - it's gonna be bad!
