It's 845 and I've been in line at the BMV for 30 min with the a ways to go. The only saving grace is that the guy beside me might be the most gorgeous human being I've ever seen.

My kids are all still sleeping. We, C was up and is now napping in her swing. But A and E are still asleep. I'm drinking coffee in silence. It's glorious.
I'm part of a county buy/sell/swap group on FB and some girl just posted asking for $67 for a bus ticket home. So far people are side eyeing that apparently nobody in her family can help her or use a credit card.
The county buy/sell/trade group is one of the most entertaining parts of my newsfeed. This week, I saw a personal ad that said ***NO BASHING PLEASE**** ISO a girlfriend for my 20 year old cousin just got out of a bad relationship blah blah blah whole paragraph ***NO HIGH SCHOOLERS OR PEOPLE WHO DO DRUGS **** please! this is serious!
A.We can't make any plans today because the new Doctor is going to debut on Doctor Who tonight. (We have DVR)
B. We are booking last minute travel for our 10th anniversary. We had intended to go to Hawaii, but with H's work and the FIL situation, we just couldn't pull the trigger this year. So Mr. Pom wanted to go on a 4 day cruise out of Galveston. On a Carnival ship. I know he loves to cruise (we've only done Holland America and Royal Caribbean) and if it had been a Princess ship or NCL, I'd have gone. I know I disappointed him, I just couldn't do it. The thought of being stuck on a bad ship (and most of the recent reviews on CruiseCritic were BAD) made me dread it. See "Saturday Ransoms" was correct. Instead we are going to Louisiana and gamble, get massages, float the resort's lazy river. He's only a little unhappy
I'm still laying in bed. It's the first Saturday in a long time where I have no morning obligations. I plan on piddling around town and getting some iced coffee until DH comes home from work and takes me to lunch. Perfect Saturday doing nothing.

Who does that? lol
I'm part of a local child care co-op FB group that's pretty entertaining, too. People are always like, "looking for someone to watch my 4 children in my home, full time. Looking to pay $25/day." Um... Gee, I wonder why no one has jumped on that offer!

Gambling is fun though! Where do you guys go in Louisiana? When we go to Biloxi we sometimes hop on over to NOLA, but we've never been anywhere outside of that area. We're always looking for little side trips when we visit family. We can only do NOLA and Ship Island so many times in one trip. lol

We talked about going to NOLA, we loved it there. Here's our "usual": www.mylauberge.com We've only gone to Lake Charles, but now there is one in Baton Rouge too. They are also building a new Golden Nugget right next door in Lake Charles. LC is the closest "decent" casino to us. What one is your favorite casino in Biloxi? I know there are new ones, but I've only been to Beau Rivage a while ago, we need to go back.
We are still trying to plan a trip for November to the Keys, pending some work stuff for Mr. P. I am dying to stay here: www.littlepalmisland.com So yeah, a Carnival Cruise, just wasn't going to cut it.
I love the local BST group for its entertainment value! My favorite posts are the ones where they say "need everything- baby is coming in 3 weeks!! No junk!" And then people start posting really decent stuff at reasonable prices and the OPs get all picky.
It's 10 am and I've been awake since 5. Went to a WW meeting for 7:15 (lost 5.4 lbs!!), went shopping at Target for meat for the taco bar that we're having tonight when we host a FF draft, and now am home cleaning. H is with DD2 at a private gymnastics lesson but should be home soon.

Day 3 out of the sling. Ice is my friend.
So far, up at 5 am, 2 miles with my running club (which wasn't too brutal for my first day back), stopped at CVS, took a sink bath in my office bathroom, now work until who knows when.
FI and I had a conversation last night that went like this:
FI: so, what did you do today? Tacom: Returned a dress at Nordstrom's, got my jeans altered... uh, a load of laundry.... snacked? FI: (kisses forehead) it's probably a good thing you're going back to work
and he's so right. I did some great things with my time this summer, but overall I've really learned that I THRIVE on a schedule. I'm really excited to get back to work Monday and challenge myself. I'm sure retirement will be fun one day when I can spend it with my then-husband and our friends, but staying home while everyone else you know is busy doing other things with their lives was not for me.
Despite the high for today being 101, I am pretending like it is fall. I have been sitting here drinking cappuccino while wearing comfy pants and a sweatshirt. I am so ready for cooler weather!
You guys, it's not going to get over 50 degrees at our house today. Cold front/ fall weather.
I wish Weather was shareable. Then you could share some your cooler temperatures, and the East Coast could send us some rain. Then we'd all be temperate!
Ransom: H got up to let the dogs out early this morning. He came back to me holding his pillow hostage and demanding a back rub.
Random: H wants to celebrate my birthday (last Tuesday) by going shopping in ATL tomorrow. The kicker, he wants to take the Leaf. I'm a little nervous. It's about 80 miles to the next quick charge and it's the only one around so if it's broken then we're stuck for 3 hours at a slow charger and pretty much not making it to ATL. I'm also worried about going back up the mountains and how much electric it will use to get us up haha. This will be an interesting adventure.

Dog woke us up at 6am today. Of course its the day I have a 5k and can sleep in because it isn't until 10:30am. But I got 1st in my age group but my ankle hurts now. Off to lay by the pool with an ice pack!
We went out last night to a friend's surprise birthday party and stayed out later and drank more than intended. We had a blast and I do not feel bad today. My bosses were there as they are friends of friends. One of them bought me a mixed drink and had DH deliver it to me because he knew I had a stressful week.
I found out yesterday that if I had stayed at my last employer I would now be a victim of reorganization and out of a job. Luckily I saw this coming a couple if years ago and got into a better job.
We were in Chicago last night and this morning grabbed breakfast at Frontera Grill. Man, if I lived in Chicago I would weigh 500 pounds. That stuff was so delicious.
my bridesmaids flew in last weekend for dress shopping and rick bayless was on our to-do list. we popped into Xoco for the cheapie version.
This morning I sold a diamond ring my XH gave me on CL. Then I went into Kay Jewelers and traded in a pair of diamond earrings, added the money from the sale of the ring, and bought myself a pair of diamond stud earrings
They are 1/2 ct total weight and so pretty! They are not the top quality line there, but they are now the nicest piece of jewelry that I own and definitely the splurgiest thing I think I've ever bought myself. And the best part is that I only spend $100 out of pocket on them (after the trade in and sale of my other ring) so I don't even feel bad. I am going back to work Monday and I still have 11 weeks of severance pay in the bank, so $100 seems like a reasonable gift to myself.
I've wanted a pair of diamond studs since forever but never would have pulled the trigger on spending hundreds on myself on jewelry like that. I am pretty excited lol.
