Has anyone had a chair reupholstered? Any ballpark guesses or ideas on cost (labor, not fabric)? I have a nice Bassett armed accent chair and ottoman that's been sitting in storage for years because I don't like the fabric. Would love to use it and not have to buy a new chair - but I'm not even sure how much something like that would cost. It's not a huge chair, by any means.
I think the style of the chair is similar to these:
Not sure I'd spend to reupholster a Bassett chair. Stickley? Hickory Chair? Sure. Bassett or Lane? You might be able to pick up a new chair for less.
I'm looking to to re-do a chair and ottoman I bought at Calico Corners; they want about $800 in labor for both plus about 12 yds of fabric. I could probably find a local workshop for about $700 labor and supply my own fabric. My first choice is about $55 a yard. TBH, it's prces like this that'll have me doing my own slipcovers.

This is what I'm thinking based on the prices. Maybe I could sell that chair, plus another one I own, on Craigslist to get the money to buy a new one. Sigh. I like the Bassett chair - I just wished I'd picked a better fabric the first time around.
