Inappropriate and "revealing" - absolutely not. A little too casual - maybe - but totaly depends on your office environment.
I was once told that I needed to dress more conservative after a training session and was shocked because I was wearing pencil skrts and long sleeve tops/blouses all week. Apparently they thought I looked "too sexy." But, I work with all women in their 50s and 60s who never ever wear heels and think khakis and a twin set is business attire. No men complained.
It wasnt a manager who told me that so I chalked it up to cattiness.
It seems like she's watching you like a hawk, which is super weird and creepy. How else would she have noticed your bra from her desk when you bent over quickly to pick something up?
You would think she would be busy enough doing her own job that she wouldn't have the time to be watching you so much as to notice your bra, or your every little motion, then go out of her way to bring you a safety pin.
Also, why does she have like, a stockpile of safety pins at her desk?

Don't know what her job is, but I'd probably make a smart comment about how I appreciate her "concern" it isn't her job to think ( about me), or how I already have a personal stylist.
I think she's out of line.
I don't do major adjusting in public, but sometimes you have to.

Okay, yes, she DOES have a stockpile. She told me once, "don't get upset and cry if I tell you that like the girl who used to have your position." WTH? It is a little strange, that's for sure.
I agree with the PPs, I think I'm going to talk to my boss when he gets back from vacation. Enough is enough. I can admit if I'm wrong, but I don't wear anything to work that I wouldn't wear to church/around family/etc. Maybe I should just come in to work tomorrow wearing the nastiest outfit and say, "See, THIS is what inappropriate looks like!" (Okay, kidding)

That's what I thought and then you took the thought right out of my head. Looking at your picture I wouldn't worry about it being inappropriate. If anybody is being inappropriate it's your nosey, obviously bored, co-worker. If this is the fourth time she's done this, I would go and talk to your boss or HR dept.

Thanks ladies! I appreciate the feedback. I asked my husband the last time and of course, he thought what she had told me to safety pin was appropriate, but he's a guy and their idea of conservative for ladies might be a little different than what we think. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy!

Ugh she sounds like a PITA! You're fine!!! I have someone that watches what I wear like a hawk too. It's hilarious because I am one of the most professionally dressed people here.

What did she tell you to safety pin that your H thought was appropriate?
It was a wrap dress. Kinda like this one (below), only my neckline was even HIGHER! You could see NOTHING! I had conservative, low black heels on with it.

DOES NOT COMPUTE!!
What part of the dress did she suggest you safety pin?
I'm so confused by this creeper, lol. My mother (who is in her 50s, btw) is the VP of a company, and wears wrap dresses like this all of the time. She is in no way super conservative, but is always appropriately dressed for work, and very stylishly so (I mean, she made me, so I had to get it from somewhere, lol).
Ugh - she is a bitter old bitty. What doe sshe wear?
I was once told by a CFO that if I wanted to be taken seriously I needed to tie back my "flowing hair." I told him he was antiquated and that I didn't need to wear a bun to be taken seriously. I think my response earned his respect.

This stuff pisses me off.
Love that response. She wears a plain, v-neck t-shirt top, black pants and black flats. Every. day.

She's definitely out of line. Wow, I can't imagine working with her. She seems to devote all her time to what you're wearing. Definitely talk to your boss/hr.
