If I am visiting my friend that lives abroad I bring a mini American supermarket. She lives in Madagascar and would probably whore herself out for Kraft Mac N Cheese.

Bars-lara, kind, granola Fruit Yogurts Cheeses meats crackers Hummus cups and pretzel chips Nuts Peanut butter cup and carrots to dip Veggies sandwiches
- granola or protein bars - fruit leather - beef jerky - Pringles (salty snack that never gets crushed!) - lots of random stuff for the kiddo - oatmeal packets (DH eats oatmeal most mornings) - sometimes we'll toss in ramen cups (think Bora Bora, not in the mood for a sit down meal and it's either a full meal or a bag of chips and I want comfort food)
^ All in luggage. Normal snack food for the flight itself.
The only thing I've brought before that's different that what is listed above is a specific type of tea, if I am craving it and I know the airline won't have it. Chai, for instance. Then I just ask for a cup of hot water, some cream/milk and sugar.

Define meat please. Like raw steaks? On an airplane?
Umm yes that's what I mean
No like slim Jim's, pepperonis, salami and cheese roll ups, beef jerky, etc
My mom always brings Twizzlers! lol. I prefer jelly beans.
I usually pack a sandwich for the flight and some bars for quick breakfasts or lunches while we're there.
Meanwhile H packs an entire pantry, especially when we travel abroad. Almond milk, organic oats, no-salt-added canned tuna, plus a couple days' worth of cooked protein pancakes, gluten-free pasta, and grilled chicken. He is very strict about his diet, so for him it's making sure he has the particular kinds and brands of food he eats.
And don't even get me started on what we bring for the kids. lol.
