Is anyone continuing to take probiotics during pregnancy? And if so, which ones? I took them before I got pregnant, but I figured I should try and get off everything beforehand. I had to take antibiotics for a few days over the weekend and I've had a terrible gut imbalance before due to antibiotics, so I want to get back on them. My dr ok'd Florastor, but I haven't talked to her again since I've wanted to try another one in addition to that.
I just started my 3rd trimester and my dr recommended I start taking probiotics. She said studies show taking them at this time could help reduce the chance your child has asthma or allergies (or reduce the severity). She didn't have a specific brand or amount to take but I went with Culturelle since that strain has been heavily studied. Not very scientific but I figure it's better than nothing.

I hate antibiotics for that reason, it always upsets my digestion! DD has used Florastor in the past and it worked at relieving her symptoms. I can't recall the last brand I had used, but I wasn't PG when I got them anyway. Hope you are feeling well again soon!
I've been taking probiotics at the recommendation of my GI doc because pregnancy has really affected my IBS. I take Phillips Colon Health (one of the brands he recommended for me). I also checked with my OB and he said they were fine to take, but I would clear it up with your Dr. anyway.
Yes I take Pearls probiotics. I've taken them for a while and actually never thought to stop when I got pregnant. They were on the list of meds I told my dr I was taking, and she said they were fine.
Like azurely, I have also been taking Pearls and I have been doing so throughout my whole pregnancy. My doctor never said it was an issue and I haven't had any problems during the pregnancy on it.
