I realize I haven't been on much this summer (judging from the new screen names I don't recognize!) but work has been crazy as well as my computer at work faces to EVERYONE! So, GBCNing is not always easy!
ANYWAY, I'm back from our small and AMAZING wedding in Maui! We had about 15 people join us for a truly unforgettable wedding on a BOAT (not as extravagant as one might think!) and we loved every minute of it. THe only downside was I didn't want it to end! I was sad when it pulled back into the harbor! Everything was great...even the entire vacation/mini-moon. What I LOVED was being able to spend a few days with our closest friends (and a few family members) vs. just 5-10 minutes per guest on the day of! Most of us all did this incredible (and hard!) hike the day before the wedding, went to a luau together, etc. Loved it! N and I had 4 days just to us and it was perfect. The wedding was great-we both balled a few times (he's NOT a crier, either!) and I barely made it through my vows! We had a local Hawaiian guy do the ceremony and he was incredible-it was a really meaningful ceremony. We even had DOLPHINS join us and swim along side the boat for a while! What?!?! Amazing!
So, a shout out to you SO who helped get me here! Ironically, I started over about 4 years ago this same time of year, and what a turn of events that led me to...have to say, I'm grateful for it all.
ETA: I can't recommend a small destination wedding enough! Heck, even if you can't make it a destination, a small wedding is where it's at!
Here's a few pics from the day (and yes, our cake toppers were our dogs! My uncle is an amazing paper mache artist, so I had him make them for a surprise for N-yes, he cried when he saw them We're nerdy dog owners.
I LOVE IT!!! Also does your uncle have a business making paper mache things? Because if so I'd love to hire him to make some for me! (of my dogs of course, it would be creepy if they were yours...)

He does that for a living (in Canada. He does almost "caricature" figures and amazing stuff. I was his first request for dogs though...I can ask him if he'd be up for another challenge!

"This prick is asking for someone here to bring him to task Somebody give me some dirt on this vacuous mass so we can at last unmask him I'll pull the trigger on it, someone load the gun and cock it While we were all watching, he got Washington in his pocket."

I'm one of the newbie screen names you won't recognize ::waves hi::
Congratulations! You look so gorgeous and happy. The wedding looks amazing - exactly the kind of small, intimate wedding I would want if I ever get married again.
