What is your schedule? I'm back at CrossFit after a 2 year hiatus (woof...so weak!) and am trying to figure out how to do that and still keep up a bit of my swim/bike/run endurance I've built up through HIM training (still need to do that race report!).
Even if you only focus on running and CrossFit - what is your schedule like?
I'm thinking of this:
Sat: Long Bike/or spinning class Sun: Longer run Mon: Swim Tues: CrossFit Wed: Crossfit plus run Thurs: Crossfit Friday: Rest day
Thoughts? I like putting the bike/run on the weekends because we're out of town a lot and I can often do those on the road....
I don't do crossfit, but I'm doing new rules of lifting and on those days I do a sprint workout. So I'd guess it's somewhat comparable to cross fit.
My schedule:
Sat - soccer Sun - long run Mon - off Tues - Lift/sprint Wed - 5 to 6 mile run Thurs - Lift Fri - pole dancing & short run (or happy hour instead of run depending on my mood )

Your schedule sounds reasonable. I don't CF, but I am doing NROLW during my marathon training - my schedule is usually: M - Recovery cycling/swimming Tu - Lift + Track Intervals W - Rest Th - Tempo Run F - Lift Sa - Spin Class Su - Long Run

Every I know that has tried to do it seriously has ended up choosing between CF and running. And they usually choose running
Yeah...I think once summer rolls around again I'll have to choose one or the other. For now I just want to keep biking and running through the winter so I don't lose ALL of my endurance fitness. Sad that I'm already thinking about winter.....
I'm new to CF, but have gone 3-4 times a week for the last 7 weeks. Part of that I was still in marathon recovery mode and wasn't running much. I want to get my $$ worth from CF, so it's important to me to go at least 3-4 maybe even 5 times a week (probably more in the winter months when running is less appealing). The month of August, I've done a longer run on Sundays (6-10miles), and at least 1-2 shorter runs (3-5miles) during the week. My actual schedule depends on my work schedule for the week since I work 12hr nights.
A "typical" week has looked like: Sun: LR 6-10 miles Mon: CF Tues: CF Wed: short run (am) CF (pm) Thurs: rest Fri: CF Sat: rest or short easy run depending on how tired I am
My goal at this point is to stay in HM shape through at least fall, then maybe cut back some in winter, depending on weather. I do hope to do another marathon next Spring, so, we'll see at that point what will happen. I probably will switch to CF 2x/wk and change to a "punch card" instead of a monthly unlimited fee. However, I'm probably in the minority when it comes to marathon (or HM) training in that I only ran 3-4 days a week and my peak week was 38 miles, I believe. My body doesn't handle 5+ days of running well!
I 'only' run half marathons but here is a typical week for me:
M: crossfit (am) T: crossfit (am)/ 3-5 miles easy run (pm) W: intervals (generally 5-6 miles total) H: crossfit (am)/ 3-5 miles easy (pm) F: rest Sat: long run (10-12 miles) Sun: rest or yoga
