I am back home from the hospital and they now have another new management plan for my high blood pressure. Previously I was on monitoring of every second week until 34 weeks and then weekly from 35 weeks. That has all been changed now that my blood pressure is up. I have been in hospital 3 times in the last week, and they have now decided that I have to be seen for monitoring every Monday, Wednesday and Friday until I deliver. I am happy not to be on medication, but that is a lot of trips to the hospital.
(I was on the original monitoring plan because I had pregnancy induced hypertension with DS)
I am glad they are monitoring you and keeping an eye on it!
Can I ask - how do you know your blood pressure is up? I've not had any issues thus far, but my mother had high BP with all 3 of her pregnancies, including me (when she was 19) and she ended up on bed rest. I'm not sure it's genetic but it could be? I am just wondering if there's something I should watch for.
In my first pregnancy it was picked up at my 24 week appointment, I had no signs or symptoms.
This pregnancy I seem to get frequent headaches, and often have black spots with them. These headaches seem to be linked to my blood pressure. But otherwise it's just regular monitoring to pick it up.
I go twice a week for NST. It was difficult when I was working. Now I can handle it. As annoying as going in three times a week at least they are monitoring you closely.
Wowzas that is a lot of appointments, but at least you're being closely monitored so that is good
I'm also on BP medication, and have been my entire pregnancy since I had HBP prior to getting pregnant, I'm hoping, and praying and crossing my fingers it stays in the normal range! Hope yours stays down blushing!
@sessalee - usually people don't have symptoms with high blood pressure, so you'll only really know what yours is when they take it at your appointments. You can also take it regularly on your own if you have a BP monitor or can take it somewhere else on a regular basis like at work or something...
