We have hardwood on our main floors and carpet in our basement. We keep our large Dyson vacuum in the basement since it fits better in the closet down there and is used more for the carpeted areas. I hate lugging jt upstairs and am looking for something that I can keep in our smaller coat closet to use for quick clean ups at night. We have a lot of doggie hair that doesn't sweep up well with a broom. Does anyone have one of the Dyson stick vacuums or a similar brand? I cringe at spending $300 for another vacuum but I've been happy with our original dyson and I know we will use this one very regularly. Thanks!
We use this one. It has a thing where you can hang it on a wall, and it hangs on the wall in our hall closet. We had 2 dogs until this year, now we have 1, and it works well enough for the hair. We have both wood and carpet that we use it on.
We have a big Dyson for whole-house vacuuming, and an ErgoRapido for quick pick ups. I LOVE IT. Only $80 and does a great job. You can use it as an upright with a spinning floor brush, OR detach the handheld to get smushed Cheerios, cookie crumbs, whatever. Super easy to empty and rechargeable.
we have the stick and it works great. i got a good deal by buying a refurbished model on amazon. we did the same for our upright dyson we got over 6 years ago and it's still going strong.

Which model do you have? All the ones I'm seeing are $120+

We have the Dyson DC44, and I'm obsessed with it! We have all hardwood and tile, and it works perfectly. I don't have a problem with how long the battery lasts -- I can do most of my 2500 square foot house with it on one charge. Usually I do the kitchen, family room, living room, hallways, foyer, and dining room with it, and I have no problems with the battery lasting long enough.

ETA: it will do 3-4 rooms on a charge. I think that's okay for $80. We don't have the money to drop on a Dyson stick, so I am happy to work with this one's capabilities.

I just moved to a house with hardwood. We have a German shepherd and a 5yo. After only a week of sweeping/swiffering I was over it and took the plunge and bought the Dyson Animal stick. I am in love with it. My husband is tired of hearing about my obsession with a vacuum but I continue to tell him. It is easy to use, I use it on everything and I use it daily (this coming from the same person who didn't touch her full sized Dyson between biweekly cleaning lady visits only months ago). Buy it. I bought a refurb on Amazon for $220.

dang it makes me sad that I want to put this dyson stick vaccumm on my christmas list! lol . We even have the regular dyson animal, but i think this would make it so much easier on our hardwoods downstairs

We already have a dyson downstairs too. I think I'm gonna stalk sales and justify it somehow to DH
