Oh man. Sorry you guys are still dealing with this.
Has/will the landlord spray for pests? (I think I asked before but forget to check back on the thread.)
I don't know. I'm checking my lease tonight. I can't say I know much about this, but per the derm, if it IS bedbugs, it means the entire building has them, so treating my actual unit will do nothing until the whole building gets treated.

Bed bugs feasted on me when I was in Europe two years ago.
Don't know where or which hotel I got bit but it supposedly takes up to 14 days for the bites to show up and they started showing up when I was in Paris.
We stored our unpacked suitcases in the garage for days because it gets really hot in there and heat kills them. Then we checked our clothes one-by-one to make sure there are no bugs. I don't want those things in my house!

I had bad bites in a line on my arm. We searched and searched for any sign of bed bugs. I also desparately posted on a bed bug site for help. We had an exterminator come out to check and nothing. I haven't been bit since. I know way too much about them now. I really hope it's something else!
Bit at work or in a movie theatre or some other place than your home?
This. Much like "morning" sickness, "bed" bugs are a misnomer.
On the news they've been found at the movie, public library arm chairs (and recently the news said they can live in library books, etc. if they've been placed on infested carpets), upholstery in restaurants, etc. And apparently next to impossible to get rid of. Good luck, and I hope you can either figure it out or it's an isolated case from somewhere you visited.
