My H just went for a check up this morning and the dr's scales had him weighing 11kgs less than ours!
It made me question them so I jumped on and there was a 3kgs difference in about 20 seconds...
We've both been trying to lose weight and getting amazingly frustrated with the results on the scale when we could actually see/feel a big difference, it would make a big difference to our motivation to have accurate weigh-ins!
Any recommendations for scales that are at least somewhat accurate? I don't care about fat % etc. as I'm aware it's never accurate without the proper measurements.
Bonus points if they're available on amazon as I'm not in the US.

I have a basic Taylor glass scale that I bought from Amazon. It was $30 or $40. I've compared it to the big fancy scales at my gym and doctor's office, and it's consistent.
Remember that time of day makes a difference in your weight, so you may weigh 5 lbs more in the evening vs morning. Other factors are your clothing and what you've eaten over the past 24 hours. So your scale may not match up if those factors are at play.
Remember that any scale can be off. Maybe the doctor's was off. I think it's more important to weigh yourself on the same scale for consistency at the same time of day in the same manner than to rush out and get a new scale.
We've been weighing ourselves once a week, naked, in the morning after having peed and showered so there shouldn't be any inconsistencies other than actual weight loss or gain.
It's pretty likely the dr's was a bit off too and H most likely lost a kg or two since last Friday's weigh in but to tell me I've put on 3kgs in maybe 30 seconds, our scales obviously don't work very well...
I don't need exact precision, but 3kgs is too big a range!
If you are looking for a new scale I'd just buy a cheaper one with good ratings on Amazon.
I use the scale more for directional movement than the specific number. Occasionally my scale will be off on one morning and I just weigh myself again. So basically, I'd just replace the scale if it consistently off.
I just wanted to say that I weighed my self this morning (wearing only a t-shirt and underwear) and then again after showering, getting dressed and having a big cup of coffee (so had my work clothes on, a belly full of coffee and wet hair). 2.8 lb difference. I know I didn't gain that in an hour.
Do you have something you know the weight of (a bag of sugar or a bag of flour)? Weigh that and see what the scale says. That should tell you if it is off at all.

Instead of investing in another scale, I'd just by a cheap measuring tape. As you said above, it gets frustrating when the scale's not moving when you think it should be. Keeping your measurements will help with the motivation when the scale is lacking.
