In our master bedroom we have a black and grey patterned flat weave rug at the foot of the bed (I think it is 9x12). It is mainly for the dogs to play on so they don't scratch the floors all to hell. It is not at all cushy or plush. Looks nice but isn't very bare foot friendly.
I want a rug next to my side of the bed, something soft and plush and comfy. Would it look odd to have smaller, shaggier rugs on either side of the bed that don't match but go with the main rug color-wise (would get something grey to pick up on the grey in the main rug)?
Replacing the main rug is not an option. We just got it 6 months ago and it looks nice with the rest of the room. Smaller versions of the main rug aren't available.
The rugs should coordinate but don't need to match. I like the look of mismatched (but coordinating) rugs. picking up the grey from the main rug is a great idea.
