So one of my co-workers came into work today with walking pneumonia and strep throat combo... Who does that? I'm not one of those people who gets freaked with every germ, but that's a pretty deadly combo to be around others with. So got me thinking...
How do you all prevent sickness? Or what do you do when you get sick? Holistic? Meds? Treat it at home? Doctors? Etc
I hope that your coworker has been on antibiotics for at least 24 hours. If not, then that's just really irresponsible.
I wash my hands a lot and avoid touching my face when I'm in public. I also wash my hands as soon as I get home. When I have a cold, I drink lots of orange juice and tea with lemon and honey and have Halls cough drops. Nyquil is my last resort.
I rely on lots of water, getting enough sleep, eating well, and stringent hand washing. I also drink grape juice daily, take elderberry extract, and an immune boosting tincture. I work with kids, in my home.

I try to keep to myself if i hear people are sick. I wash my hands a lot and make sure I an taking my vitamins.
It's so weird how some people call out for anything, and some people never call out, even if they are contagious. It's really annoying.
Anecdote: when I was in my 1st tri w/ DD (so no one knew) the following came in to work: a lady with shingles, a lady with MRSA (!), and a lady with hand foot and mouth disease. Like what are the fucking chances?! And my boss was OOT, so I would have has to tell the general counsel, and he would have told my boss and I just wasn't prepared for all that!
Wow spankswife that is so intense! That would have been such a stressful day!
I am also hoping they were/are on antibiotics.
I normally drink tea, drink honey/lemon hot water, take an immune booster in water or juice, honey and cinnamon combo by the spoonful, and a few vitamins, lots of sleep! I know i'm missing a few but those are the main ones!

I agree that they better have been on antibiotics! That's not a good combo As much as I hate using PTO at this time of year when it's running somewhat low, I'd definitely take a day off to let the meds kick in and rest!
I wash my hands pretty well at work and don't touch the door handle on my way out of the bathroom (I've seen people leave without washing hands!). This goes for other public bathrooms too.
Other than that, I don't do a whole lot. I take vitamins, but nothing specifically to prevent illness (at least things like colds). I used to drink more tea but I've read so much conflicting stuff about drinking it now that I just stopped. I miss my tea! I also try to drink water and eat healthy, but obviously that doesn't always go perfectly I don't get super sick that often luckily, but I always seem to have a stuffy nose. I think it's allergies and need to go in and get tested. When I do get sick, it's usually a sinus infection.
The other day a couple of doctors were talking in the lobby where all of the visitor elevators are and were like "Yeah it looks like he's got a broken leg, and most likely Ebola". He was saying it as a joke but in a dry, serious way. I was like omg my hospital is going to be on the news tonight in conjunction with mass hysteria.
