I've been growing my hair out & its about to my boobs right now. I wear it straight (flat iron) & its fine. My natural hair has some curl & wave in it & gets frizzy. Because of the frizz I use an oil on it (not at roots) & then heat protectant, but thats about it.
It just seems to hang there & be flat, but I'm not sure how to get any volume in it. I don't have layers because they never lay right, but I do have some in the front. When I curl it it definitely seems to have more body, but I don't have time to do that every day.
So any styling tips for every day wear or products that help give volume for longer hair? Thanks!
basically. after I blow dry my hair straight, I roll up the crown in the large rollers, leaving the rest of it down. I then hit the rollers with the hair dryer again and let it set while I do my makeup... about 10 minutes or so.

My hair isn't very long (a few inches below the shoulders) and I like hair powder. I put it on my roots before applying hairspray (love Elnett). It helps keep some body during the day.
I also flat iron my hair, so I'll add a little something.
first, while Veronabrit rolls up nearly her entire head, I only roll up the crown of my head since I don't like volume on the sides. I only use 5 rollers. the majority of my hair is still hanging down. so it's up in rollers while I'm doing makeup and the majority of my hair is down. my flat iron is heating up in the meantime. after makeup, I run the flat iron through the hair that is already down, making sure to flip a little at the ends to give them a little bend.
then, I let my hair down one roller at a time. I will go ahead and flat iron those sections, but only starting at the middle of the shaft, down to the ends. I keep the iron at least 2 inches away from my scalp. I also do a little flip to maintain the bend at the ends.
then my hair is all smooth and hopefully Dallas big. sometimes I spray a little dry shampoo into the roots to give them a little bit more body and texture.
