How many people are off today?

All the bases in our area have a down day today, but my office (run by a civilian) is open because he doesn't understand that civilian's 59 min rule and military down days are different. I shouldn't be annoyed, but I am. So I'm sitting here watching the clock while all my neighbors and husband are at home for the Family Day. Ughhhhhh.....

Just got the word we are RELEASED. Oh glorious day. ;-) Pedicure time.

If H were here, he would have probably had today off. Possibly yesterday too. His squad is big about expending weekends as far as possible.

Of course, that doesn't translate to my world so easily.

I'm off but I work shift work so that's sheer luck. I work tomorrow when our friends are getting together so I'll be showing up late. I have all kinds of days of though so I can't complain.

When my h was in he very rarely got the usual 4 days off for a holiday weekend. He usually ended up with just the typical 3 days.

DH worked Friday as most of the peninsula was wrapping up a large scale exercise. They get Monday and Tuesday off and the following Monday off for a Korean holiday. Not too shabby!

We both worked today. Dh is not in anymore though and I'm a teacher. We both have Monday off. Then no extra days off until Veterans day. Its going to be a long haul until then.

Judging by the traffic this afternoon a lot of people here had Aloha Friday (let out early) and will be off on Monday. Dh was let out around lunch.

My DH had Friday off, and has Monday off, too. Being in Germany, he gets a four day weekend every month. It's going to be a rough adjustment for him when we move home **and** he retires. No more four day weekends for him!

LOL. H worked yesterday, is working today, and will work tomorrow. He loves getting paid OT haha. I told him that's the probably the best part of getting out. He can work weekends and actually get extra money for it.

H doesn't. though he is gone. And no one in his unit had this weekend off even stateside.
