A feral cat that's terrorizing students has forced an elementary school in Maryland to close.
The ferocious feline is on the loose at Richard Henry Lee Elementary School in Glen Burnie. Animal control officers have set traps for the animal, but have been unable to catch it, Washington, D.C., TV station WUSA reported.
The school was forced to close at 9:45 a.m. ET Friday.
An estimated 500 students were either bused back home or waiting to be picked up by parents or guardians.
According to the Capital Gazette, "the kitty hasn't scratched yet." But school officials weren't taking any chances.
Traps will be set up for the kitty through the holiday weekend.
Oh my god this is amazing. Glen Burnie is an area that MH and his friends (who grew up in the next town over) TOTALLY look down on btw. Which makes this funnier to me.
So the realtor who brought the eventual buyer through our house commented "Cat hissed and growled. Think it needs some attention." We were like eff no, lady. That is our GUARD CAT. You are a stranger in his house. Fall back.
I'm thinking somebody in administration really wanted a 4 day weekend. "Hey, did you guys see that feral cat? It looked crazy! We better close the school."

Is the cat tunneling through the air vents?! Aren't elementary school students pretty much in their classroom except lunch and recess? It seems extreme to close over a cat that in theory can be avoided... If they got the kids out, it seems to be about the same risk as going about their day as normal
