No, for several reasons:
- The average July and August temps hover around 100 F. That kind of heat makes me really furious all the time, so probably I would accidentally murder people and that seems like trouble.
- Sand storms don't seem like a lot of fun.
- I can't imagine I'd feel very comfortable living under an absolute monarchy, which has committed pretty flagrant human rights violations in the very recent past.
However, I would move somewhere else for five years for that kind of money, no question. A non-arid climate, preferably, with some sort of checks-and-balances government in place.
I love Bahrain, and assuming you would get a standard expat package and tax free options I would say yes. I would be surprised if it didn't total up over 100k with everything weighed it. Surely it would be closer to at least 300k.
I haven't read the other responses bc I'm too drunk to but if this was previously stated whatevah.

This is where I'm at.
Also would I be working for the oil industry? Because I have all sorts of issues with that too.
Totally. I don't make much, H is unemployed. We have few family ties, so a vacation back here once a year would be fine. My one bff lives here and I'd miss her, but my other bff lives out of the country anyway. So sounds great to me. I also love heat.
Probably not, although it would be tempting assuming a pay increase and normal hours (40 hours/week sounds real nice right now). We just moved a year ago though, and I still remember that hell. Our families would lobby hard for us not to take their grand babies away.
kinda feel like with these sorts of questions if the salary amount is less than what you are paid here then you translate that to a higher salary in your head...cause 9 times out of 10 the OP is indicating thag the new opportunity will be financially lucrative.
Otherwise it sounds like hahhahaaa your poor slob i don't get out of bed for less than a million

Not at this point in my life, but when we were younger, probably. We're about to have our first baby and it's hard to imagine anything that would tempt me away from our family/social network right now.
